AAA Cards ~ Challenge #304

Time for a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. This challenge is a sketch challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card

For my card, I chose three of the images from Mama Elephant's Little Cat Agenda stamp set and coordinating die set. I stamped the images out with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Ohuhu markers BG042, R193, V284, WG150, WG170, Y397. I die cut them out. Using a 1 1/4" circle punch, I made a stencil for the three slightly overlapping circles. I added distress inks - mowed lawn, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch applied with oval ink blending brushes. I stamped the sentiment using Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages.

We'd love to see what you create based on our sketch in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #303

It's a new challenge at AAA Cards. Our clean and simple challenge is a bit different - use the center prompt and at least, one of the remaining four prompts.

Here's my card

For my card, I used the center circle - birthday and balloon (although, it might qualify as a party, too!). I used Simon Says STAMP's Critter Crowd stamp set. I stamped the crew and the sentiment below using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Ohuhu markers - 120, BG042, BG082, E371, E761, G191, G463, R192, WG150, Y792, YG020. With the markers, I tried to make an ombre effect with the sentiment. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape. In retrospect, I could have made this a one layer card, stamping directly to a white A2 card base. Sometimes, I'm just not sure where the card is going until I finish it.

We'd love to see your birthday creations in our gallery. Please remember to keep the card clean and simple.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #302

Time for a clean and simple challenge? We have one at AAA Cards. It's a bit different this time.

We're following Karen's lead. Here is her card. Cute, right?

Here's my card

I incorporated an ink blended area behind the focal image, a cute critter with something to eat image and a pun-ny sentiment onto my card, in line with Karen's card. I started with Avery Elle's Dino-Mite Day. I read that Avery Elle has closed up shop. They were in business for 12 1/2 years supplying super cute stamps and dies. It's sad to see them close. However, there are many new companies and the "old" companies still offering card-making supplies.

I stamped the cute dinosaur with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added color with Ohuhu markers - B290, E494, G289, R193, RV390, V284, V369, WG150, Y397. I fussy cut the image. On a white A2 card base, I ink blended a small area in the center with tumbled glass distress ink applied with an oval ink blending brush. I stamped the sentiment towards the bottom of the ink blended area using the same stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I glued the dinosaur in place to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by Karen's card in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #301

There's a new challenge starting at AAA Cards. Here's the info.

Here's my card

For my one-layer card, I started with a white A2 card base. I used Pink & Main's Mask It Circle and My Favorite Things' Mini Cloud Edges stencil with Gina K Design's Soft Stone ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush. I varied the position of the stencil for each "layer" of clouds. Once I filled the entire circle, I removed the stencil/mask. I stamped with Lavinia Stamps' Birds stamp. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages to complete my card.

We'd love to see your ANYTHING GOES - Clean and Simple card in our gallery. Will you use our optional twist of greys (monochrome)?

AAA ~ Challenge #300

It's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards. Here is the sketch

Here's my card

For my card, I masked off a rectangular area near the top of a white A2 card panel. I used STAMPlorations' Placid stencil and distress inks (peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon) applied with oval ink blending brushes. I removed the mask and lightly ink blended a bit of mermaid lagoon distress ink over the white area. I stamped the sentiment using Your Next Stamp's Fishy Fun stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Aquamarine ink. The fish was stamped from the same stamp set with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers YR07 and YR61. I fussy cut the fish and glued him in the "waves". I added some bubbles with a fine black marker.

We'd love to see how you use our sketch to create your card.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #299

There is a new clean and simple challenge starting at AAA Cards. Our challenge this fortnight is a color challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I made a mini slimline card. I used Taylored Expressions' Triple Slim Layering Stencil - In The Garden. I used distress inks - villainous potion, dusty conocrd, tea dye and Concord & 9th's Dove ink, applied with oval ink blending brushes. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Bouquet of Thanks and Concord & 9th's Dove ink. I adhered the panel to a mini slimline card base with double-sided tape to complete my card.

We'd love to see what you create using these colors in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #298

Our next clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards is a "FOLLOW MY LEAD" challenge. This fortnight, we're following Ceal. Here's her card.

It's a pretty autumnal card. Here's my take on Ceal's card.

For my card, I started by stencilling the central area of a white A2 card base, using part of the Ranger/Dylusions Alphabet Border small stencil and mustard seed distress ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the leaves, I ink blended using distress inks, spiced marmalade, brushed corduroy and mustard seed somewhat randomly on some white cardstock. I die cut the leaves using Paper Smooches' Large Leaves dies. I glued the leaves in place. For the sentiment, I used Altenew's With Gratitude stamp set and Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink.

We'd love to see how you were inspired by Ceal's card in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #297

Time for a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. For the next fortnight, our challenge will be

Here's my card for Challenge #297. I chose to use the Optional twist of All Green.

I started with some 100 lb bristol. I smooshed some distress ink - twisted citron, mowed lawn, rustic wilderness, added a spritz of water and picked up the ink with a brush to cover the bristol paper. I kept adding ink until I liked the effect. I set the bristol aside to dry. I die cut the sprig using Poppystamps Leafy Sprig die from dark green cardstock. When the bristol dried, I cut it down to 2" x 2 3/4" and matted with the same dark green cardstock. I stamped the sentiment using Hero Arts Color Layering Bouquet stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's evergreen ink on a natural card panel. I glued the focal image in place and to complete my card, I adhered the A2 natural panel to a A2 natural card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your clean and simple creations in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #296

It's time for a new clean and simple challenge at AAA Cards. Here's your inspiration for Challenge #296.

Here's my card

For my card, I changed the shape from an oval to a scalloped circle. I did try to maintain the color scheme. I used Concord & 9th's Grateful Blooms stamp and die set that I received as part of Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered October 2021 event. I started by stamping the silhouette using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added color by ink blending with distress inks - mustard seed, spiced marmalade and carved pumpkin using oval ink blending brushes. I then die cut using the coordinating die. I adhered the die cut to a white A2 card base with liquid adhesive. I stamped the sentiment using Close to My Heart's Say It All Stampaganza 2017 stamp set to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you are inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

AAA ~ Challenge #295

Starting a new challenge at AAA Cards. For the next fortnight, our challenge is

Here's my card. I've chosen the "activity" bubble, in addition to the "summer" bubble.

I started with Pink & Main's Mask It Circle stencil and STAMPlorations Placid stencil. I used cracked pistachio, peacock feathers and mowed lawn distress inks, applied with oval ink blending brushes. I stamped the cute penguin with its snorkel gear and floaty using Your Next Stamp's Snorkel Fun Penguin with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with Copic markers BG10, BG23, V06 Y17, YR16. I fussy cut the image and glued it to the A2 panel. I stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set and PinkFresh Studio's Aquamarine ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see your summer creations in our gallery.

AAA ~ Challenge #294

Our challenge at AAA Cards is a little different this time. It's a Follow My Lead challenge.

Here's the card, created by Tristan

Here's my card

I kept the central rectangular focus, framed by white, the yellow element in a corner and the gray and yellow color scheme of Tristan's card. Although, as I look at both cards now, I perhaps should have used a slightly darker shade of gray. For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel. I used My Favorite Things' Rectangle Extraordinaire stencil and My Favorite Things' Cloud stencil. I changed the position of the clouds stencil while ink blending with Concord & 9th's Dove ink, applied with an oval ink blending brush, starting lightly at the bottom and adding more pressure on the blending brush as I moved up the panel. I then stamped the little bird using Neat & Tangled's Swirly Twirly Tags stamp set. I added color with Copic markers Y06 and Y15. I then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink. To complete my card, I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you were inspired by Tristan's card, in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #293

New clean and simple challenge starting at AAA Cards. Here's the challenge

Here's my card. I chose to add the Optional Twist of Sentiment Focus to my card.

For my card, I used Stamp Market supplies that I received as part of Scrapbook & Cards Today's Crop & Create Delivered October 2021. I used Stamp Market's A Bit of Everything stamp and die set. I cut cardstock to 1/8" widths. I glued them behind the white "thank you" heart die cut. I stamped the "so very much" with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I felt, that it needed a little something, so I dusted off my Stampin' Up's Double Scalloped Border Punch and used black cardstock for a fancy strip behind the heart. I glued the fancy strip and heart onto a light gray A2 card panel which was then adhered to a white A2 cardbase with double-sided tape to complete my clean and simple card.

We'd love to see your clean and simple card in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #292

There is a new challenge starting now at AAA Cards. For the next two weeks, we have a sketch challenge for you.

When I saw the sketch, I knew what I wanted to do. Here's my card.

I used Pretty Pink Posh's Layered Candles stencils (of which there are three layers). I "masked" off the individual candles with scraps of paper. I used distress inks applied with oval ink blending brushes, in rainbow order, wilted violet, blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon, mowed lawn, twisted citron, squeezed lemonade, carved pumpkin, candied apple for the candles. For the first layer, I used a light hand and applied minimal ink. For the second more decorative layer, I applied more ink using the same distress inks for a tone-on-tone look. For the tops of the candles, the third layer, I used mustard seed distress ink, again applied with an oval ink blending brush. For the sentiment, I used Clearly Besotted's Many Mini Messages. When I started, I wasn't completely certain where I was going so I ink blended on a white A2 card panel. In retrospect, I could have started with a white A2 card base and created a one-layer card. What I did to complete my card, is adhere the panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you are inspired by our sketch. Add your creations to our gallery for us and others to see.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #291

Ready for a new Clean and Simple card challenge? We'd love for you to join us at AAA Cards. Our challenge this fortnight is

And the leader's card is this one

Here's my card

I used the same gold and black color palette with some gold heat embossing. For my card, I used supplies that I received as part of Scrapbook & Cards Today's Celebrations Delivered event, held February 2023. I die cut the grad cap and sentiment with black cardstock. The tassel was cut from gold cardstock. For the sentiment, I applied some Versamark ink, (direct ink to paper) to the lower part of the sentiment die cut and added gold embossing powder which I heat embossed. I trimmed the white A2 panel slightly and to a black A2 panel, I applied some Versamark ink to the lower edges and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I adhered the white panel to the black with double-sided tape and glued the cap, tassel and sentiment to the white panel. To finish my card, I adhered the black panel to a white A2 card base with double sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our Leader's card. Looking forward to seeing your creation in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #290

We've got a new challenge at AAA Cards.

Here's my card

Yippee for me! My friend had this stamp and die set and I.had.to.have.it. However, you know how that goes, right? I've had it for at least a couple of years and I think that this might have been the first time I actually opened the packaging! WHAT? LOL! The sets are Mama Elephant's Little Cat Agenda stamp and die sets. I picked out three "birthday" kitties and stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers (which I sadly forgot to write down). I die cut the kitties with the coordinating dies. For the postage stamp squares, I die cut them using a Concord & 9's Seaside Post wafer die that I received as part of Crop & Create Delivered Spring 2023 event. To create the background for the kitties, I made a mask using a post-it note and a square die from My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX die-namics set. I ink blended some tumbled glass distress inks on the postage stamp square die cuts using an oval ink blending brush. I glued the kitties in place and adhered the postage stamp square die cuts onto a gray A2 card panel. I heat embossed the sentiment using Your Next Stamp's Jungle Critters stamp set and silver embossing powder. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see your Clean and Simple birthday cards in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #289

Ready for some Clean and Simple goodness? We have a new challenge starting at AAA Cards. This fortnight, it's a color challenge.

Here's my card

For my card, I used Simon Says STAMP's Sweet Tulip die. I die cut three times - two with white cardstock and one with black cardstock. I glued them together with the black on top. i then die cut the "pieces" with colored cardstock scraps. I didn't have a dark green, so I made some colored cardstock with Forest Moss distress ink, using the ink to paper technique. On a white A2 card base, I glued the stacked die cut in place and glued the inlaid die cut pieces. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Lots of Thanks stamp set.

We'd love to see what you create with our color challenge in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #288

There is a new challenge starting at AAA Cards. It's a sketch challenge and here's the sketch.

Here's my card

For my card, I started with the lower right corner. On a white A2 panel, I used Clearly Besotted's Splish Splash stencil with distress inks - peacock feathers, tumbled glass, mermaid lagoon applied with oval ink blending brushes. I used Waffle Flowers' Birthday Fishes stamp set and stamped the fish wearing the birthday hat with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I added color with Copic markers B02, B29 BG13, R05, R17, Y17, YR04. I fussy cut the fish and added glossy accents to its eye. I stamped the sentiment using the same stamp set with PinkFresh Studio's Summer Shower ink. Once the glossy accents dried, I glued the fish in place. To complete my card, I adhered the A2 panel to a white A2 card base with double-sided tape.

We'd love to see how you're inspired by our sketch in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #287

Do you enjoy making clean and simple cards or would you like to give clean and simple cards a try? Well, we have a challenge starting at AAA Cards for you! Our challenge this time is

Here's my card

For my card, I chose "geometric or organic shapes" in addition to silhouettes. For the background circle, I used the bokeh technique, which doesn't really show up in this photo. Here's a close-up.

I started with some white cardstock and ink blended randomly using distress inks - cracked pistachio, peacock feathers and wilted violet applied with oval ink blending brushes. I then added some "bokeh" circles using post-it notes where I had used a circle punch (both 3/4" and 1") to create circle masks, as well as Simon Says STAMP's Polka Dot Party Stencil. I used Color Box Frost White pigment ink, applied with a finger dauber with the various sizes of circle masks, arranged randomly. I then die cut the panel using a Sizzix circle die. I stamped the sentiment using Mint Owl Studio's Banner Sentiments. For the kitty, I used a Sizzix Tim Holtz Thinlits Mischievous die and black cardstock. I glued the kitty in place and adhered the circle to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

We'd love to see what you create using our "new" style challenge in our gallery.

AAA Cards ~ Challenge #286

We have a slightly different challenge for you at AAA Cards. We are to follow the lead of one of the Design Team members.

Here's Kristen's card

Here's my take on Kristen's beautiful card

I scribbled on a piece of 100 lb bristol with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers - cornflower blue, may bgreen, yellow, bright yellow, orange and tried to move the ink with a water brush. I wasn't very successful but liked the effect I was left with. I let the panel dry and then die cut using Memory Box's Large Olive Branch. I glued the die cut to a white A2 card base. For the sentiment, I used Simon Says STAMP's Bouquet of Thanks to complete my card.

We'd love to see how you are inspired by Kristen's card in our gallery this fortnight.
