Die Cut Divas ~ September Challenge with STAMPlorations

It's starting to feel like autumn (finally!). While I'm enjoying the cooler temperatures, I'm not really liking the shorter days. At least, there still is some daylight after dinner.

We have a new challenge at Die Cut Divas and a new sponsor this month. STAMPlorations is our sponsor and will be giving our winner a code worth $20 for digital images in their shop. STAMPlorations' owner, Shery is currently battling breast cancer and many of the "real" products - stamps, stencils, dies, paper goods are currently not available at this time.

Our challenge this month is
ANYTHING GOES, with optional AUTUMN

Here's my card

For my card, I used STAMPlorations Autumn Pumpkin Mug digital stamp, which I sized on my laptop and then printed with my inkjet printer. I added color with Copic markers - C2, E08, E33, E43, E71, G82, G94, Y15, Y17, Y35, YG63, YR04, YR07, YR16. I die cut the image panel and the black mat panel with two of Waffle Flower A2 Layers dies. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Coffeecionado stamp set, which I stamped onto a scrap of gold color cardstock and trimmed to a thin strip. I popped the sentiment up with dimensionals.

We'd love to see your ANYTHING GOES, with optional AUTUMN creations in our gallery this month.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ April Challenge

Hi Friends! It's time for a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS. This month, our challenge is

Here's my card that I hope might inspire you.

For my card, I started with an A2 panel of 96 lb bristol. Since, I knew I was going to use some water, I couldn't use regular cardstock. I smooshed some salty ocean, mermaid lagoon and wilted violet onto a circular acrylic block. I spritzed it a few times and stamped it onto the 96 lb bristol. To introduce some pattern to the circle, I reached for STAMPlorations ARTplorations Tribal Weave stencil. I used a bit of washi tape to hold it in place over the circle. I then spritzed some water through the stencil. I carefully removed the stencil and picked up any drops of water with some paper towel. This resulted in a nice pattern over the circle. I didn't want to cover too much of the circle. I adhered a sticker from STAMPlorations Inspirational #3 - Clear Stickers on a strip of vellum (because frankly, I kind of struggle putting the stickers on straight and they are really unforgiving - LOL!) I adhered the vellum on the lower part of the circle. I adhered the A2 bristol panel onto a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your clean and simple card and optionally blue and purple too!

STAMPlorations CAS ~ March Challenge

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Yawn ... we're back at STAMPlorations CAS after a little break with a new challenge

Here's my card

I felt like doing some watercoloring this month. I started with an A2 panel of 140 lb Strathmore watercolor paper. I thought that I'd add a bit of color to the background. Using my Gansai Tambi 18 color large pan set, a fairly large brush and lots of water, I added a very light wash of green to the watercolor panel. I waited for the panel to dry. I used an anti-static pad and then heat embossed with white embossing powder STAMPlorations In Bloom: Charmed Cherry Blossoms stamp. I then added some pink to the blossoms again using my Gansai Tambi 18 color large pan set. This time I used a fine watercolor brush and a bit of water to achieve a more intense color. I kept adding more pink watercolor paint to the blossoms until I was happy with the result. I let the panel dry. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Clear Stickers - Just Thank You. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered it to a natural A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to see your CAS (clean and simple) creations over at our blog.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ January Challenge

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Happy 2022! After the last two years, this year HAS to be better, right? Wishing you good health, much happiness and joy this coming year.

We're starting off 2022 with a new challenge

Here's my card

I couldn't resist the opportunity to include the optional twist of RAINBOW on my card. Who doesn't love rainbow colors? For my card, I started with a white A2 card panel. I placed Post-it tape around the edges to mask off that area, exposing a 2.25" x 3.5" rectangle. I added color (in rainbow order) using distress inks - barn door, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn and peacock feathers, applied with an ink blending tool. I carefully removed the Post-it tape. I added the sentiment, using a clear sticker from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Just Thank You Clear Sticker pack. On a scrap of white cardstock, I stamped STAMPlorations In Bloom: Floral Bliss Trio with Versafine Onxy Black ink. I then fussy cut the image and adhered it to my card panel. I like the contrast between the brightly colored background and the stark black and white floral arrangement. I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete my card.

STAMPlorations CAS December Challenge

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Phew! Made it to December. It's been quite the interesting year, eh? Last year at this time, I would have thought the pandemic would be over but oh no, we're still in the middle of it. Anyway, being an introvert, I'm enjoying all the quiet time at home at my craft table. I guess, I just wish I could travel.

Talking about crafting, we have a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS. This month, the challenge will be

Here's my card

This card was a bit of an experiment to do the optional color twist - to use metallics and a color (black) and I think that it turned out fine. I started with STAMPlorations ARTplorations Christmas Trees stencil and a black A2 card panel. I smeared on Tombow Mono Multi Glue through the stencil with my finger. I removed the stencil and quickly washed off the glue. I then covered the tacky glue area with Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes - Egyptian Gold. I covered the panel with copy paper to help to burnish the gilding flakes. For the sentiment, I heat embossed using STAMPlorations Christmas Bell Medley stamp set and silver embossing powder. I attached the black panel to a white A2 card panel to complete the card.

STAMPlorations ~ 7th Giving Thanks Blog Hop

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Excited to be here for STAMPlorations 7th Giving Thanks Blog Hop. There are prizes - there will be five winners of a $10 prize code, randomly selected from all the comments left on the hop post and the design team's blogs &/or Instagram accounts. There will also be linky prizes - two winners will receive their choice of a STAMPlorations product up to $15 value and one winner will receive a $40 prize code. Also, there may be extra surprise prizes too!

I have a lot to be thankful for. Here's my card

For my card, I started with a white A2 panel and stamped various trees multiple times, using STAMPlorations Gratitude Trees stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I mean, Gratitude Trees stamp set is a good choice for a Giving Thanks Blog Hop, right? I used 3/4", 1", 1 3/8" circle punches to punch circles from post-it notes to use as masks. I added distress inks (squeezed lemonade, rusty hinge, carved pumpkin, fossilized amber, mustard seed, barn door) using the masks and ink blending brushes, in a somewhat random fashion. I trimmed the panel slightly and adhered it to a black A2 card panel. I also die cut the sentiment using STAMPlorations CUTploratiions Thanks word die. I used some of the "extra" ink on the ink blending brushes to add color to the sentiment die cut. Here's a close-up of the sentiment die cut.

I decided to use a strip of vellum upon which I adhered the sentiment die cut. I adhered the vellum to the card panel and then adhered the card panel to a white A2 card base.

I'm proudly representing STAMPlorations at the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Here's my card

I was inspired by this card by fellow STAMPlorations design team member, Tanja

I went through part of my stash of patterned papers, looking for colours that went with the coffee cup die cut that I chose from STAMPlorations For the Love of Coffee Ephermera pack. i cut strips and adhered them to a kraft A2 card panel. I stamped the sentiment using STAMPlorations Coffeecionado stamp set and Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink. I added the coffee cup die cut with dimensionals. To complete the card, I adhered the kraft panel to a white A2 card base.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ November Challenge

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Woah! How could it already be November? I'm not ready for the year to be over. I have a bunch of stuff to do before the end of the year. Guess, I had better get organized.

It's time for a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS. This month, the challenge is

Here's my card. I thought I'd try to use the optional color twist of "neutrals only".

I started with STAMPlorations ARTplorations All Swirls stencil and some neutral color distress inks (frayed burlap, pumice stone, hickory smoke) applied with an ink blending tool on some white cardstock. I die cut my image using STAMPlorations CUTplorations Perched Bird die. For the background, I started with some mid-tone gray cardstock where I masked off an area about 3" wide. I used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Trees stencil and Bundled Sage distress ink, applied with an ink blending tool. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2 stamp set with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. I used a die to die cut the mid-tone gray panel and adhered it to a dark gray A2 card panel which was adhered to a white A2 card base.

We'd love for you to join our challenge at STAMPlorations CAS this month.

STAMPlorations ~ Playing With Paper Goods

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Have you seen the new paper goods at STAMPlorations? There are colorables, ephemera and quick card fronts. They definitely help to create cards, when time is limited. I'm using the Bloom Burst Ephemera for my cards today.

I made three cards with this package of ephemera.

For this first card, I started by making the background using my Gelli plate, STAMPlorations ARTplorations Crisscrossed stencil and distress oxides - frayed burlap, antique linen and vintage photo. I then used an oval stitched die to die cut an oval using natural card stock. I stamped the sentiment using STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2 stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink. I added some beautiful flowers from the STAMPlorations Bloom Burst ephemera to complete the card.

For card #2, I also used my gelli plate and salty ocean, broken china and wilted violet distress oxide to make an inked panel. I trimmed the panel to 3" x 4.25" and adhered it to a light blue A2 card panel. I used a clear sticker from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Inspirational #1 Clear Sticker pack which I adhered to the inked panel. I added a grouping of flowers and foliage from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Bloom Burst ephemera on the left side of the inked panel. I popped the large pink flower up with dimensionals to add a different level to the card.

For card #3, I challenged myself to make a card in under 5 minutes. I started with one ATC panel from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Watercolor ATC Journaling Cards. I adhered a clear sticker from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Happy Happy Clear Stickers pack and adhered it to a light pink A2 card panel. I added a few floral die cuts from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Bloom Burst ephemera and adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card. And the verdict is .... 4 minutes 51 seconds! So, if you ever find yourself in need of a card and you don't have much time, you'll need a card front or ATC journaling card, a clear sticker and some ephemera. Of course, you'll need adhesive and a card base!

STAMPlorations CAS ~ October Challenge

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

And ... we're back from our summer break. It's time for a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS. This month our challenge is

Here's my card (and I used the optional twist, too!)

For my card, I stamped the lily image using STAMPlorations Blossom Spray #3 using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then used some post-it tape to mask off the 0.5" areas. I applied distress inks (mowed lawn, shabby shutters, twisted citron) with an ink blending tool, moving the masked off area after each color application. In full disclosure, I was going to stamp a sentiment in the lower right corner. However, I found I had left a bit of an ink smudge (inky fingers) and wanted to cover it up. So, I used a clear sticker from the STAMPlorations Just Thank You clear sticker pack and adhered it to a scrap of green cardstock. I trimmed the sentiment strip and covered up my ink smudge. Phew - saved that card! I adhered the panel to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

We'd love to have you join us this month. We're anxious to see your clean and simple (CAS) creations.

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Very happy to be representing STAMPlorations at the National Coffee Hop

Here's my card

For my card, I used STAMPlorations Coffee To Go: Fall and Winter. I stamped the beautiful sunflower cup design stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added color with Copic markers E08, E25, E47, G85, W2, Y17, Y38, YR16. I then stamped the cup outline with lid with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the lid with a C5 Copic marker. I fussy cut the image. For the sentiment, I used STAMPlorations Coffeecionado stamp set, stamped onto a orangy-brown scrap of cardstock that I trimmed to a 7/8" strip. For the background, I started with a natural A2 card panel. I then used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Dots 'n Beans with Vintage Photo distress ink applied with an ink blending tool, taking care to only ink up a portion of the right side of the panel. To complete the card, I adhered the strip and coffee cup in place.

STAMPlorations ~ 8th Birthday Celebration

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Who doesn't love a birthday celebration? Certainly not this girl! So proud and happy to be part of day one of STAMPlorations 8th Birthday Celebration. My projects make use of STAMPlorations  Birthday Bundle 1.

I have two cards for you today. Here is card 1

For this card, I started with my Gelli press and wilted violet, peacock feathers and salty ocean distress oxides. I smooshed the distress oxides randomly on the Gelli press and smoothed it out using a brayer. I made several prints. The one I used for this card was a second generation print - meaning I took one print where the colors were quite vibrant and without adding more ink, I took a second print were the colors are more muted. I was trying to decide how I was going to use the STAMPlorations Blossom Sprays #4 stamp. Stamping it with black ink didn't seem right, this time. So, after I inked up the Gelli press with the same oxides, I used it as a ink pad and then stamped onto the second generation print. To complete the card, I used STAMPlorations Art Border Die #1 with some dark teal cardstock. I felt it was missing something when placed beside the inked panel, so I added a strip of silver shimmer cardstock, behind the die cut. Ah yes, this was better. I adhered everything to a white A2 card base to complete the card.

Card 2

This card was also made while my Gelli plate was out. For the background, I started with peacock feathers, seedless preserves and faded jeans distress oxides smooshed randomly and smoothed out with a brayer. I inked up a white A2 card panel with the ink. I then placed STAMPlorations ARTplorations Design Blox #5 stencil onto the gelli plate and added more distress oxide ink - this time the same colors as the previous card - salty ocean, wilted violet, peacock feathers. I used the same card panel and printed the next layer of ink on top. I really liked the panel and was a bit reluctant to cover it up. I didn't want whatever I did to out-compete the background. So, I decided to stamp the STAMPlorations Blossom Spray #4 with Versafine Onyx Black ink on white cardstock. I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the background. For the sentiment, I stamped it using STAMPlorations Radiate Happy stamp set and Versafine Onyx Black ink to complete the card.

There couldn't be a birthday celebration without gifts. STAMPlorations has a variety of gifts up for grabs. Full details on the STAMPlorations blog.

STAMPlorations ~ Rainbows Ephemera Tiles

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! There are some new paper products in the STAMPlorations Online Store - they're called "ephemera". The Rainbows Ephemera Tiles are super fun "squares" of colored rainbows on 130 lb cardstock. I experimented with them and this is what I came up with.

Going to be honest - I wasn't sure what to do with them. I cut them out and played with them a bit and decided a color blocked card would work. So I picked three of the rainbows and added some yellow cardstock as "blocks". I used a clear sticker from STAMPlorations New Day clear sticker pack to complete card #1.

For this card, I decided to play on the "rainbow" theme and used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Dots All Over stencil with distress inks (tumbled glass, cracked pistachio, squeezed lemonade, dried marigold, worn lipstick, shaded lilac) added in rainbow order, of course, with an ink blending tool. For the sentiment, I chose another clear sticker from the STAMPlorations New Day clear sticker pack.

Continuing on the "weather-theme", I masked with STAMPlorations ARTplorations Squares Flexi-Template and applied distress ink (squeezed lemonade, dried marigold, worn lipstick, shaded lilac, tumbled glass, cracked pistachio) with STAMPlorations ARTplorations Clouds stencil. I used one of the ephemera squares, matted with black and placed it in the middle of the clouds. The sentiment is a clear sticker from STAMPlorations New Day clear sticker pack.

It was fun not stamping on any of the cards. The ephemera tiles, some stencils, some scraps of cardstock, some distress inks and some clear stickers and look what you could create. Really, the sky's the limit (yep - still on the weather theme!)

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Hi Friends. I'm here to remind you of our June challenge at STAMPlorations CAS

Here's my card

Earlier this month, I added light blue to cream cardstock to use the optional theme of light blue and cream. Now, I'm adding cream to light blue cardstock. On a light blue A2 card panel, I used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Bloomdalascopic #3 stencil and Color Box Frost White Pigment stamp pad, applied with an ink dauber. For the sentiment, I used a stamp from STAMPlorations Gratitude Trees stamp set. I used Versamark ink with white embossing powder on a scrap of black cardstock. The sentiment was heat set and trimmed to a small rectangle.

We'd love for you to join us this month. You still have time.

STAMPlorations ~ Sticker Monday

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Hi Crafty Friends! I'm here with a post for STAMPlorations ~ Sticker Monday. Have you tried the Clear Stickers offered by STAMPlorations? I think they are so useful, especially if you're in a rush and there is such a variety of them offered. They are a nice option to finding a stamp, selecting the ink and grabbing my stamping positioner to stamp. One word of caution though - they are really sticky and not forgiving. I find that cutting the clear sticker from the sheet, with the release paper still adhered, positioning it in place and carefully peeling just a corner of the release paper to adhered it in place seems to work for me.

I have three cards for you, all using stencils. I was also in a bit of a rainbow mood when creating them. Here's the first one.

For this card, I used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Ethnic Organic One stencil and distress inks (salty ocean, seedless preserves, festive berries, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn) applied with an ink blending tool, in rainbow order. For the sentiment, I used a stcker from the STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Inspirational #1 clear sticker pack. I adhered it to a strip of vellum which I then adhered to the card. If I'm being truthful, I was worried that I might not be able to adhere the clear sticker straight so I thought that by using vellum, I was "safer". I like that you can still see the vibrant colors from behind the vellum. Here's a close-up.

Continuing with the rainbow colors, here is card #2

For this card, I used STAMPlorations ARTplorations Bloomdalascopic #2 stencil with distress inks (salty ocean, seedless preserves, festive berries, carved pumpkin, mustard seed, mowed lawn), applied with an ink blending tool. I kept the sentiment simple and used a clear sticker from STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations New Day clear sticker pack. I used the cut the sticker out with the release paper, positioned it, removed a corner of the release paper and carefully adhered it in place, technique. I thought the sentiment, "be a rainbow" was perfect for my card. It's not quite a one-layer card but it's pretty close, right? Here's a close-up of the sticker.

Here's my last card

For this card, I started with STAMPlorations ARTplorations Broken Glass stencil and added distress inks (mustard seed, carved pumpkin, festive berries, seedless preserves, salty ocean, mowed lawn) with an ink blending tool. For this card, there was a bit of a twist. I ripped some printer paper and used the uneven edges as a stencil for adding the ink. Each color used a different ripped edge. Here's what that looked like.

I then added a sticker from the STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Birthday Word Art sticker pack. I also added some stamped images from STAMPlorations Party Mates stamp set, stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto some scraps of white cardstock and fussy cut to complete the card.

STAMPlorations CAS ~ June Challenge

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Can you believe it? It's already June! My goodness, time sure is flying by. It's time for a new challenge at STAMPlorations CAS

Here's my card

For my card, I started by stamping STAMPlorations' Tea Cup Row - Artsy Border with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a natural A2 card panel. I tried to incorporate the optional color twist of light blue and cream. I added color to the tea cups with Copic markers B00, B02. I created a mask with a piece of printer paper. I then added a subtle background just around the row of tea cups, with STAMPlorations ARTplorations All Swirl stencil with antique linen distress ink. I removed the mask and added the sentiment using STAMPlorations Grateful Flutters stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

We'd love for you to join us this month.

STAMPlorations Reminder Post ~ Spring Fling

This post contains affiliate links. When you click on them and place an order, I will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you.

I'm here to remind you of our STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party

Here's my card

For my card, I stamped many of the super fun trees using STAMPlorations Gratitude Trees stamp set using Versafine Onyx black ink onto a white A2 card panel. I decided to pull out my Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils to add color. I used three pencils - light aqua, lilac and light cerulean blue. I used a blender pencil to smooth out some of the pencil lines. For the sentiment, I used one of STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Happy Happy clear stickers, adhered to a small piece of vellum. I was a bit concerned that I might not place the sticker straight, if I had tried to adhere it directly to the card panel. So I went with the vellum to help with that anxiety. That's my card!

Welcome to STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hop and Linky Party

I have a card for you

Have you seen STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Quick Cards #3 - Spring Florals A2 Card Fronts? They are amazing watercolour floral card fronts, printed on 130 lb cardstock. All the hard work is done for you and they are gorgeous. I can see if you need a card in a hurry, you could stamp a sentiment or use one of STAMPlorations CRAFTplorations Clear Stickers. Ta da - you'd be done! All I know is that my watercolouring isn't as nice as these card fronts.

For my card, I used one of the Quick Cards #3 card fronts. I then used a scrap of 96 lb bristol and my Recollections Artist's Loft Watercolour Paints to blend some similar colours to those of the card front. I focused on the blue and purple shades. When the scrap was dry, I die cut the sentiment using STAMPlorations CUTplorations Thanks word die. I adhered it in the "open" white space. The card was simple to put together but looks like I worked harder than I did.
