Periwinkle waited impatiently at the Teleportation Tunnel. She had a lot planned for today and hoped they could get everything accomplished. As she paced, she saw the Tunnel start to shake and, with the familiar WOOSH, out popped Stinky right into her waiting paws. They spent time whisker-kissing, paw-patting, and catching up on the week. They both shared that they had nice Thanksgivings and were particularly THANKFUL for each other. It didn't take long for Stinky to realize what they were doing (especially after Periwinkle handed him a Santa hat!)
Jumping up and down he exclaimed, "Yay! We're decorating for Christmas, aren't we?" He quickly spotted the Christmas pillows and got right to work setting them out.
The Tabbies decided to work on the linens next. Stinky laughed because Periwinkle had started, and it looked like a big mess! Periwinkle was a little miffed about that!
Wanting to get back on her good side, Stinky said, "I was going to wait to give you this, but I think this is the purrfect time. I remember seeing this last year. I had it re-made to spell out your sisfurs name since I know she came to live with you right at Christmas.
Periwinkle clapped her paws and said she knew Noelle would appreciate it. Stinky said, "I have another surprise, I made one for you too!"
Periwinkle threw her arms around him and gave him bazillion whisker-kisses. You are the very BEST fiancé! I love you so much," she said.
Getting back to decorating, they decided to do the trees next. The trees were heavy, so they brought them in together.
With some help from Periwinkle's Mom, they worked together to assemble the tree. They giggled because Reesie was sound asleep in the cat tree and didn't pay any attention to them.
The big tree was almost all cat ornaments and they had fun decorating it.
Stinky asked what the big gold thing at the bottom of the tree was. Periwinkle said it was a "collar" and that they saw them last year at Angel Brian's blog, and Mom got them right away for their tree since "someone" always manages to hork on the tree skirts.
Next, they moved to the family room where they decorated the fireplace and the small "memory" tree. Periwinkle explained that the tree was decorated with ornaments that survived the storage fire as well as some of their Angel Auntie El's.
When they were done, they were pleased with how it looked with the fake poinsettias around it. (Reminder to our pals, poinsettias are poisonous to cats!)
Even Reesie finally came down from her nap to help...
