I have this 45, with the picture sleeve, from 1964. It is my most prized possession from my childhood. It started a love of the Beatles that I have carried with me my whole life.
My copy's sleeve looks every bit of its 60 years but the record itself still sounds oh so good.

I grew up on the Beatles. I can actually remember when the Beatles were still an active band. So ok, i'm old, lol. But my musical tastes are pretty much based on that foundation, I do like an awful lot of music, far too many artists/bands/groups to mention. Music was my life in high school, what is now called either classic rock or even oldies, lol. The oldies station here played "Rock The Casbah" by the Clash and I must say I felt really....old. lol. I am also a big fan of reggae. Bob Marley was so gifted, great voice, great rhythms, great pertinent lyrics, just an absolute treasure. Peter Tosh is another, this guy was an original member of the Wailers and was a true musical force. Love those guys, their music and what their music stood for, love and equality for all, simply awesome. Both taken from us way way too soon.

I've seen a lot of concerts, mostly in my youth, from BTO and Foghat in 1975, all the way to Big Audio Dynamite in April 2011. Haven't been to any since, most of the bands/acts I love are either dead or retired. Dave Grohl is cool Some good ones still out there.

I have seen many comedians perform live as well. The highlights are Gilbert Gottfried at a very small club in Levittown Long Island, he was offensive, he was dirty, and he was hilarious. Wendy Liebman at that same small club was also hilarious. I loved her delivery, just cracked me up. But by far, the funniest 90 minutes of my life were spent at the Westbury Music Fair seeing a comedian genius at the top of his prime, Rodney Dangerfield. I have never laughed so hard, for so long, in my life. Once the first joke hit, you start laughing and barely get a chance to breathe when the next one hits and it goes on for 90 minutes. A brilliant comedian at the top of his popularity doing what he did best. You try laughing hard and uncontrollably for 90 minutes and see how you feel afterwards. You never forget that feeling.

By far, the loudest concert I've ever experienced was The Who in Madison Square Garden 1979. This was the loudest noise, period, i've ever experienced. Power chords at maximum volume to stunning effect, love the Who. Favorite shows i've seen include The Clash at Bonds Casino in NYC in June 1981, they were incredible, so powerful; the Meat Puppets at CBGBs in 1988, another great guitar player who absolutely lit it up live; and Big Audio Dynamite in April 2011 at Roseland in NYC. I've seen so many shows over the years, and there were so many I wish I had seen.

The absolute best music though, is the kind you share with someone you love. I so miss that.
