I'm a on KDE 6.
When I copy some text from a GUI application, and then paste it in GF, it works fine.
However, when I copy some text from the KDE's default terminal, Konsole, (including, but not limited to using vim), I can paste it in GF. The text is there in the clipboard, and I can paste it anywhere else, but GF does not detect it.
The 2 mildly annoying workarounds, are either to paste the text in a GUI app first, and then copy again and paste in GF, or write the whole thing manually in GF, which not practical when you have .cpp names and function names that are too long to type.
