I'm not sure how a VM backup could corrupt an etcd database. My recommendation would be to run a high availability cluster. Etcd itself does create internal snapshots that are saved to disk. |

VM backup would not corrupt database, but not sure if I had to restore the vm for some reason, the database could be corrupt. |

As long as you took a snapshot of all cluster members around the same time it should be fine. This goes for remote clusters and inbuilt clusters. Just means for the remote cluster the etcd process is running on a different machine to wag |

Hi,
I am not very familiar with Etcd and I have some concerns regarding disaster recovery in an event of corrupt database.
Since I am not able to do snapshots, how would I recover in of a corrupt database?
I run WAG in a Proxmox VM and as far as I can tell a backup of VM can also make db corrupt?
I know you can run multiple instances in cluster, but wont help if VM backup also corrupts database.
