Description
In the opentofu organization, we have repositories in varying states of community accessibility. Some are archives, some are deprecated, some are explicitly for only maintainers, and most are providers. However, there is a core of repositories that can be contributed to by the community at large. These repos should be identified and maintained as a list in our contributing file as places where the community is welcome to volunteer its efforts.
Additionally, we should pin repositories where we expect special attention to be added. A shortlist might include opentofu, opentofu.org, org, registry, registry-ui and tofu-ls.
Note: we do explicitly expect the org repo to be contributed to, as we instruct people to add to the TSC agenda through pull requests, for instance.
The goal of this issue, therefore, is to develop a consensus on the following items:
- which repositories are "supervised"
- which repositories to pin
- Adding this list to the CONTRIBUTING.md
