Verification Help & Guidance
Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,
I’m a current master’s student in finance at a UK university and I’m trying to apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack.
I’ve followed all the instructions I can find:
– My GitHub billing information is fully completed with my legal name.
– My GitHub profile “Name” matches my legal name as it appears on my university documents.
– I have uploaded official university letters (offer/scholarship documents on university letterhead with my name, programme, and dates) as proof of academic affiliation.
Despite this, every time I apply I receive an automatic rejection email that says:
“The GitHub account you are using was recently created, and you appear to be having difficulty demonstrating your academic affiliation. Please wait a few days then try again.”
I have already waited and reapplied multiple times, but I keep getting the same message.
When I try to open a GitHub Education support ticket and choose “Application not approved (student)”, I see a notice that individual manual reviews and status updates are no longer provided. When I choose “I have found a GitHub Education technical bug”, I’m redirected back to this community forum.
So I’m stuck in a loop where:
– I cannot get my Student Developer Pack application approved, and
– I cannot contact Education support through the usual ticket options.
Could someone from GitHub Education or the community please advise:
Whether this behaviour means my account has been automatically flagged, and
What steps I should take so that my Student Developer Pack application can be processed successfully?
Any guidance or an official contact path would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
