On macOS, apps often include code for both Intel and Apple Silicon (Arm) processors so they can run on any Mac. This is what we refer to as a universal app. While convenient, it also makes the app larger in size since the binary has to hold both architectures. The lipo function lets you remove the version of the app that’s not needed on your specific Mac—either the Intel part or the Arm part. This doesn’t affect how the app runs, but it can reduce its size and save disk space. So in simple terms: it trims the app down to only include the version that’s right for your Mac. I've been using/testing it on my end for a bit now, I haven't ran into any issues yet. But since the feature is so new, I marked it beta just in case. I can only do so much QA on my own 😂 |

Hi there, Installed a Harmony remote app which also installed a driver. When done,. I used Pear exclusively to delete the following: After execution, I ran orphan files and no new hits. I searched for Harmony or Logitech from today as I have other logitech software and was sure not to include older in my search. This was the result. Should these be removed or not? This was the second part of my experiemnt seeing how well I can remove apps with or withough Pear. Curious what you think about those files not caught. Thanks so much!! ~Bob |

Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. I like to keep my computer tidy. After 40+ years with Windows I can tell 98% which leftover files I can trash. Not familair enough yet with Mac to know. If you notice, Pear FOUND files with com.belcarra. Tow of the unfound are also with com.belcarra. I would think I could delete those, no? AS well as the com.logitech.harmony. SO at least 3 of the 5 logically to me, can go. Unless Mac cleans those itself after time. And I am surprised these fdo not match what Pear would search for as an orphan. Or included in the app uninstall. |

I'm learning, Alin :) What would happen if you expanded to search for com.belacarra and com.logitech.harmony ? Would have caught those and "seems" would not have found anything not to delete? |

Can someone please explain to me what Lipo does and if it is safe to try while in beta?
Thanks!
