I can't tell you how it might work because I don't use that feature, and as I said, org-super-agenda does not offer integration for org-agenda-filter-by-tag; you should be able to use that command in an agenda view, but org-super-agenda's discarding happens at an earlier stage.

The :discard selector is intended as somewhat of a last resort. It is a big hammer. Use with care.
