EditorConfig plugin compatibility #16575

Hey there, I see that Theia bundles the EditorConfig plugin, is there any reason why you're still using version 0.16.6? Whilst testing, I have noticed that if you leave Theia browser open in a separate tab and go do something else for a while, often when you go back, Editor Config will constantly try and activate, requiring a refresh of the browser tab, whilst our own plugin activates fine. I am wondering if upgrading to a newer version would fix this, but I just wanted to double check that there aren't any compatibility issues you are aware of? Cheers |

No worries, thanks for the response! We've customized our setup a bit already, so I just wanted to check if there was a reason to not update it before doing so on our end. |

Thanks for raising this! I don't think there's any specific reason.
In general, the plugin updates are overdue, but we plan to update the built-in extensions soon (see GH-16279; we're currently still working on publishing it to open-vsx).
As part of that, I also plan to update the other plugins :)
