Why to dismiss stereo vc like

            presentingViewController?.dismiss(animated: true, completion: nil)

Instead of normal dismiss as it's modally presented
dismiss(animated: true, completion: nil)
It's causing my stack of VCs to disappear, any valid reason? thanks
