Enhanced Exercise questions #1349

The Enhanced Exercise add on adds a 2nd exercise cycle. If you want to replace the existing exercise cycle, the only way to do this is to have the add on exercise cycle overlap the controllers built in cycle. If you are not replacing the existing cycle and are fine with 2 exercise periods then you do not need to have it overlap the built in cycle. You can also set the add on exercise frequency to "Post Controller" and it will start the enhanced exercise cycle immediately after the built in controller cycle. If for some reason you want only one exercise cycle then, yes, you can set it to overlap the existing cycle. If you remove the last_exercise parameter from the config file then a bi weekly exercise will occur on the next day of the week specified. Once the add on exercise occurs, the add on will re-write the last_exercise parameter. You can edit the parameter, but make sure it is in the exact same format otherwise the add on will not be able to read the value of the date. Let me know if you have any questions. |

What is/are your question(s)?
I apologize in advance for the brain dump. My first post to this group.
Running Genmon on a PI zero 2 W (Linux genpi 6.12.47+rpt-rpi-v8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.12.47-1+rpt1~bookworm (2025-09-16) aarch64 GNU/Linux), using the Pintsize.ME HAT. Generator is an 11kw Generac w/Evolution controller.
I'm looking at setting up enhanced exercise to run a 30 minute cycle biweekly. Like many others I get milky oil in the winter due to short exercise cycles. My local dealer also agrees and has had many conversations with Generac, which seems to fall on deaf ears.
Anyway, I understand enhanced exercise must start before, and end after, the controller's cycle time. The issue I have it appears the controller and genmon's schedule are off by a week. Is it as simple as changing the last_exercise parameter in genexercise.conf to sync up genmon and the controller's exercise times?
Is there a way to determine when the controller's next exercise cycle will occur, other than looking at the run log on the controller or in genmon?
I noticed in the enhanced exercise frequency parameter a setting of "post-controller". This is the text in the help pop-up window for Exercise Frequency in the add-on:
"Exercise Frequency options are Daily, Weekly, Biweekly,Monthly or Post-Controller (immediately after the controller exercise cycle). Hour, Minute, Month, Day of Week are ignored if Post-Controller exercise frequency is enabled." Is this a new feature? Any more detail on this?
