Starting a Game With The New Clock Tool Is Not As Easy As It Was With The Old Clock Tool #1824

With the new Clock Tool you first need to make sure the right side is starting on the white player's side and then push a little play button but often this is confusing as to which side is starting and players just tap the clock like it will start automatically and I have to explain to push the little teeny play button. It confuses most people.

I rather enjoyed the old version where you just configure the time then the black player just taps his side and boom it starts working on the other side. It is so much easier to start the game this way instead of having to make sure the right side it selected and then push a little teeny play button. The tap of the other player is ingrained in us to mean it is your turn from so much playing so it is so natural to just have the black player tap it and start the game... that tap triggers your brain to move.

If people want the new system too then I recommend a setting to give this option. I really hate the new starting system.

I wonder if anyone out there agrees with me. I LOVE the new Clock Tool (except the ugly pixelated white flag with salmon background) but this is just annoying me and my chess friends a lot. I run many chess meetups and use this app almost every day. I am considering installing the older version of Lichess just to use the old clock which is crazy.

Thank you.
