Current status

• Simplify blending #1002 is applied, resulting in API breakage and possible different render results.
• We're making more changes (see Blending refactor and improvements #1065) to improve aa while avoiding artifacts.
• The last release before these changes is v0.12.0

Status around okt 2024

• The implementation of Update propagation #495 and Refactor pygfx using pylinalg #482 are coming closer.
• In wgpu-py, we're making progress on the lower-level mechanics related to the update propagation work.
• We're moving wgpu.gui to a new library rendercanvas, where most of this work will happen. The wgpu.gui will remain for the time being, and deprecated at a later stage. For more info see Proposal: move wgpu.gui into a new library wgpu-py#627
• We'll make sure to have a release with the current API before we start breaking stuff.
• We'll try to chop up the changes in smaller pieces that can be released separately.
