I build and maintain open-source software around Python, Django, developer tools, and performance.

Most of my work is practical: keeping mature projects healthy, making tools faster, writing better documentation, and building small utilities that remove daily friction for developers.

A few things I am focused on now:

  • Maintaining and reviewing work across the Django CMS ecosystem as a Django CMS Fellow.
  • Improving json2xml across Python, Rust, Go, and Zig with better performance, lower memory usage, stronger tests, and clearer docs.
  • Building terminal-first developer tools like github-pr-attention, a Go TUI for triaging pull requests without living in browser tabs.
  • Maintaining my Neovim workflows, including my fff.nvim fork and editor tooling.
  • Writing regularly on vinitkumar.me about engineering craft, open source, tools, and using AI without giving up judgment.
