Hi, I'm Ivan 👋
I’m a tech leader, instructor, and open-source author with more than 20 years of experience in software development. Today I focus on compilers, data science, and open science/source—leading teams, mentoring developers, and shipping systems that are simple, reliable, and reproducible.
As an educator (instructor and teaching assistant), I mentor students and early-career professionals, helping them build confidence, land opportunities, and deliver real projects. In community roles, I organize events, facilitate knowledge-sharing, and support initiatives like Open Science Labs that helps people from all parts of the world.
On the open-source side, I’ve contributed to many projects such as PyTorch, ibis-framework, and the Jupyter ecosystem, and authored libraries across DevOps automation, compiler tooling, and healthcare. I prefer pragmatic stacks—Python/C++/JavaScript; Django/FastAPI; pandas/Apache Arrow; PostgreSQL; Docker and CI/CD—used in service of clarity and impact, not buzzwords.
I help people and teams grow with clarity and kindness. Together we design simple systems, better habits, and joyful collaboration—so results come without the grind.
This sponsorship will help me to keep contributing to Open Science Labs and ArxLang. Also it will help me to contribute to more open source projects. At Open Science Labs, I am mentoring and working in all areas there to keep the community moving forward. Also I am sponsoring some interns whom is learning new skills and contributing to open source projects.
