Description
Describe the bug
I have a v6 Iris split keyboard and have used Via on Windows 11 for a few years now. Last night I opened Via to change a keymap and for some reason the keyboard with the current keymappings does not draw on the configure tab. The lower section where you have the selections on the left ( basic, lighting, media, etc ) and the various keys on the right display but the top section where the keyboard usually is drawn is missing. The layer selector is being drawn but it is floating over the bottom section text and nothing happens when you select different layers. I uninstalled Via 3.0.0 and installed it again. Problem persisted. I downgraded to Via 2.2.0 and problem persisted.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open Via. Issue is there on configure tab without doing anything further.
Expected behavior
Usually the configure tab has a top section where the keyboard is drawn with the current mapped keys and then the bottom section with the available keys to change the mapping to.
Screenshots
VIA Version
- I am using the latest release of the desktop app from https://github.com/the-via/releases/releases/tag/v3.0.0.
- I uninstalled Via 3.0.0 with Revo Uninstaller and removed all of the leftover system registry settings and files. I installed Via 3.0.0 again with no change and also tried to downgrade to https://github.com/the-via/releases/releases/tag/v2.2.0 with no change. Currently I have Via 3.0.0 installed.
Keyboard firmware VIA protocol
Was 9 when I made post originally. After I reset the eeprom and flashed newest firmware on keyboard it now reads as 12.
Desktop (please complete the following information):
- OS: Windows 11
- Bug report being written in Firefox but am not using web interface for Via
Custom json definition?
- I do not have any custom json definitions.
Sanity checks
- I have tried connecting the keyboard directly to the computer. I have tried with the keyboard on a USB hub where it normally is connected. I've tried to unplug the keyboard and plug it back in several times to both direct and hub. I have restarted my machine several times.
- I have tried toggling light mode, different keycap themes, and 2d vs 3d in the settings to no change.
- I reset eeprom and flashed both halves of my keyboard with Iris rev6 firmware pulled from https://www.caniusevia.com/docs/download_firmware when I got off work. Problem with Via remains.
