Problem

The gpodder API is becoming the standard way to sync podcast subscriptions and play state. It would be SO cool if this client was able to hook up to the API so that I can keep listening to my podcasts I started on my phone when I get to my terminal.

There's a great page on nextcloud about the API and clients.

Clients that support it

• AntennaPod
• Gnome podcasts (issue where implemented)

Servers that support it

There are a bunch but the big one is Nextpod (which works with Nextcloud). There's also

• opodsync
• podfetch (I'm really excited about this one!)

Audiobookshelf also has open issue to work on it! I hope they do!

Implement the API!

Alternatives considered

Wait for more adoption. I especially hope that audiobookshelf implements it.
