Lino Printing Lino printing is a type of fine art printmaking in which the plate is carved/cut into the surface of a block of lino. Lino printing has been popular for many years, and many people remember it from their schooldays. However, it is a versatile material and technique that can be used to create evocative and haunting prints.There are many reasons to choose lino printing to create designs and artworks, but the main reason is that it can be easily replicated at home. Monoprinting Monoprinting is a fine art printing technique that uses perspex or a sheet of glass covered in ink to transfer a design onto the chosen substrate. Each print can be unique or a variation on a theme; this techniques lends itself to abstract compositions using a combination of multiple artistic formats such as painting, lithography or etching.Monoprinting is particularly suited to those with an eye for detail, who also enjoy expressing themselves spontaneously. It only requires a few simple tools and materials so is very easy and inexpensive to try at home.The monoprinting guide on this site contains clear step by step instructions as well as a handy checklist of equipment required. Political Art
Screen Printing Screen printing is an artistic printmaking technique where the same design can be replicated on numerous items using a mesh fixed to a frame. Most people will be aware of Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe silkscreen image that used this technique.If you love experimenting with colour, you will probably enjoy screen printing; this is a very creative and rewarding printmaking technique!
