Channel 5 has released a trailer for the seventh season of their most popular series ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL which will return September 17th following the village vets right after the World War II. The story of the new season picks up in 1946, with the war behind them and Skeldale House once again full – and livelier than ever – as familiar faces reunite under one roof and look ahead to a hopeful new chapter. James(Nicholas Ralph) is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area threatens the status quo. The world at large may be changing, but inside this slice of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism. Packed with warmth, humour and community spirit, the series brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike. Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley as Mrs Hall, Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot and Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon will be joined by Caolan McCarthy as the new rival vet, Granville Bennett. Season 7 will also have Christmas special in December and season 8 is shooting as well. It will air on PBS next year for US viewers. Watch the trailer below:

Another new romantasy book hit to be turned into a small screen TV series is HER HIDDEN FIRE from Cliodhna O'Sullivan optioned

The book will be turned into a series

 by Irish company Great Island which will make an eight part series out of it. The second part of the book should be released this November.

BBC One has released first trailer for their new feature length drama ONWARD AND SIDEWAYS which stars Laura Linney and Rhys Ifans in a touching story about two people with lots in common - a great sense of humour, a love of dance, and Parkinson’s. Rhys plays Tony Evans, the deputy head of a local primary school. Laura stars as Emma Dretzin, a pianist, composer and single mother of two daughters. Neither knows the other until a startling encounter changes the course of their lives: on the same morning, they are both confronted with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s. This film is their story - a friendship which unfolds unexpectedly. A story of humour and emotion, of challenge and courage, of music and dance - transcending the assumptions of a little understood condition, and triumphing over the odds to find joy, release and love. Joining Laura and Rhys are Monica Dolan, Rory Kinnear and Paul Mayhew-Archer. As life starts to feel a little boring, it takes a sudden lethal turn when she discovers The Seven Demons, a squad of hitmen, have been hired to kill her. Assuming someone from her past is behind it, Jackie unleashes her old instincts and embarks on a plan to take down The Demons one by one before they kill her. However, she soon realises her own demons are much more terrifying than the ruthless killers on her trail and her buried secrets ultimately lead her much closer to home, with surprising consequences! The series which will start October 2nd also stars Ron Perlman and Daniel Ings and will stream on AMC+ in USA and Stan in Australia.

The six part series will be set in Berlin, 1899: When the rebellious Dolly Pinkus narrowly escapes a serial killer and the authorities fail to act, she takes the investigation into her own hands. Together with her best friend Mieze and young police inspector Carl, she embarks on a dangerous hunt for the perpetrator. Derya Akyol, Sean Douglas, Max Hubacher, Andreas Lust, Merlin Rose, Jerry Kwarteng have been announced in the cast.

 The restored monarchy is faltering, a new revolution rumbling. In this troubled France, Julien Sorel (our gorgeous and sweet Victor Belmondo), poor son of a carpenter is ready to do anything to rise socially. Torn between the Red and the Black, between the military ambition and the ecclesiastical career, but also between two women that everything opposes, he will have to pay the price of his choices. Virginie Ledoyen, Camille Razat, Patrick Timsit also star.

I already mentioned this one to you when French historical series UNCHAINED  (Enchainés) competed earlier this year at Seriemania. 

The series aired in France in May

This six episode drama has the story set in Bourbon Island, 1806. A devastating cyclone leaves Charles Bellevue’s plantation in ruins. Bankrupt, he is forced to sell his lands, leaving his slaves in terror of being separated. Among them, Isaac refuses to accept his fate. He has just discovered that Charles Bellevue is not only his master: he is his father. Fueled by rage and an insatiable desire for freedom, Isaac persuades Charles to keep the plantation. Impressed by his resolve, Charles appoints him as overseer. Now, Isaac must balance his newfound power with his urge to protect his people. The brand new historical series was done for their national broadcaster France Television where it already aired back in May. ITV and ITVX have released a poster and a trailer for their new TV series THE BLAME a six episode drama that dives into secrets, suspicion

The series will arrive this Autumn to ITV

 and systemic corruption - all under the surface of this seemingly quiet town. The series begins when the body of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen is discovered sending shock waves through the town of Wake- stead. As DI Crane (played by Michelle Keegan) and DI Radley (Douglas Booth) dig deeper, what starts as a tragic death, spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups, andmoral compromise. As the clock ticks and trust fractures, Crane must navigate both a murder investigation and the treacherous politics inside her own team. Joe Armstrong and Ian Hart also star.  The six episode series will air sometime this Autumn in UK. THE STORY OF

The Remarried Empress follows the strained relationship of beloved Empress Navier (Shin Mina) and her husband Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Jihoon) of the Eastern Kingdom. With anxieties rising across the kingdom, the couple's relationship begins to fracture when Sovieshu falls in love with a runaway slave and attempts to move heaven and earth to win her heart. Among the slate of new Mexican series in which Netflix will invest one billion dollars in the upcoming years, is also MAL DE AMORES or LOVESICK  a TV series adaptation of Ángeles Mastretta’s novel. Directed by her daughter, Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, the series, which will stream from September 2nd, is set during the Mexican Revolution and follows Emilia Sauri, a woman torn between two passionate loves while navigating a world dominated by violence and revolution. It shows the political history of a country through the intimate life of Emilia Sauri, her family and her loves. The series tells the parallel story of the evolution of a country and Emilia's own growth. Renata Vaca will play Emilia, a woman who fights for her convictions, without renouncing her feelings. Juan Pablo Fuentes will give life to Daniel Cuenca, a revolutionary adventurer, and Ivan Amozurrutia will incarnate Dr. Antonio Zavalza, a doctor who seeks peace in the midst of civil conflict.
