Popular sitcom returns tonight at CBS

Returning with the second season tonight over at CBS is GEORGIE & MANDY'S FIRST MARRIAGE multi camera sitcom with Montana Jordan and Emily Osment. Season two picks up after the season 1 finale, which found Mandy keeping the truth about working with an ex-boyfriend from Georgie. When he learns the truth, he's moved to buy her father Jim's (Will Sasso) auto shop and go into business with Ruben (Jessie Prez). It's all leading up to a hilarious season with some big changes in store. Rachel Bay Jones and Dougie Baldwin are back as Mandy's mother and brother Audrey and Connor. The episodes will also stream on Paramount Plus.

About a year ago I told you that Netflix has ordered sixteen episodes of a new multicamera sitcom LEANNE from Chuck Lorre which will see comedienne Leanne Morgan lead the comedy and now we have the first trailer and a launch date on July 31st. She will play a woman whose life takes an unexpected turn when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. Starting over when you’re a grandmother and in menopause isn’t exactly what she had in mind, but with the help of her family she will navigate this new chapter with grace, dignity and jello salad. Kristen Johnston will play her completely opposite sister Carol who twice divorced with no kids, and if there’s a choice between going to church and going to a bar, she will always choose the latter. Despite their differences, Carol is fiercely loyal to her sister and is her ride or die. Celia Weston,Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Graham Rogers and Hannah Pilkes. Tim Daly, Jayma Mays, Annie Gonzalez and Blake Gibbons will recur. Over at Hulu out today is their new multicam sitcom from Will & Grace creators titled MID-CENTURY MODERN about three best friends, gay gentlemen of a certain age, played by Matt Bomer, Nathan Lane and Nathan Lee Graham, who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother and a naked Gen Z housekeeper. As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done! Matt Bomer is Jerry Frank who left the Mormon Church and his marriage in his early twenties after his wife informed him and the rest of the congregation that he was a homosexual. Now a latter-day saint in the literal sense of the term, Jerry is pure of heart. He is also hard of body and soft of head. Nathan Lee Graham is Arthur, a dignified, elegant, fashion industry veteran who believes that life will never quite match the grace and panache that would exist if only he were in charge.  After playing his loving wife in Last Man Standing, Nancy Travis will join Tim Allen in his new sitcom SHIFTING GEARS as well. The sitcom which became ABC's most watched premiere of all times with over 17 million viewers two weeks ago, will see Nancy guest star as a spirited widow named Charlotte, who connects with Allen’s character, Matt. This will basically be the first time for us to see Tim have a love interest in any of his sitcoms, since he always had a wife in them but in the new one his wife died from heart attack and he lives alone before his estranged daughter moves in back into the house with her kids. Shifting Gears airs Wednesdays on ABC and streams on Hulu.

To start shooting next month, it sees Allen starring as Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter, Riley, and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins. Nick, Matt’s son and Riley’s game coder younger brother, will not be part of the series and will be replaced by the character of Gabriel.   WHAT'S THE STORY?  

It will see Reba playing plays Bobbie who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in her half-sister Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), she never knew she had. Isabella is an enthusiastic 20-something, who has studied psychology and loves to analyze people. She is thrilled to start working at the tavern and is full of “great” ideas about how to bring it to life. Peterman plays Gabby, a bartender who has worked at the tavern for quite some time. She is a bit needy and dramatic and would have loved to be Bobbie’s sister. The comedy will also star Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn. Peri Gilpin will guest star as Roz Doyle with Greer Grammer (Kelsey's real life daughter) as Roz's daughter.  Edward Hibbert will also star in the new season. Rachel Bloom will also appear as Phoebe Glazer, the daughter of Bebe Glazer (Harriet Sansom Harris), Frasier Crane’s former agent. Phoebe and Frasier have more in common than Frasier had with her mother, Bebe. Both share a love for opera, and they seem to connect easily. This connection makes Frasier concerned that Phoebe could be his daughter. Amy Sedaris will play Doc Stathos, a therapist who admires Frasier. Patricia Heaton will appear as Holly, a bartender and Frasier’s new love interest. Yvette Nicole Brown will join the cast as Dr. Monica Finch, the sister of Olivia, Frasier’s colleague.
