I used this book for grade k - 3 on Orange Shirt Day. It's a great book with a gentle story that kids can easily relate to do realize the harsh reality of Residential Schools. After we discuss the book as a class I always compare the differences between then and now. On a feather the students each write words, phrases, or pictures of how students have the right to feel at their school. I compile the class or entire school's feathers on one bulletin board for a school display
