I found this delicious recipe in the Margaret Fulton Cookbook. I didnt have any mustard seeds, so subbed a teaspoon of English mustard; and subbed a teaspoon of curry powder for the garam masala.  We had it with a Thai red prawn curry and steamed rice, but it is often served as a main dish for vegetarian meals. Edited 16 December to include salt and paprika in ingredients. INGREDIENTS:
4 Medium Sized Potatoes
1 Tomato, chopped
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
1 Tbsp Fresh Curry Leaves
2 Red Dry Chilli’s 
200g Canned Tomato, blended
1 Tsp Cloves
1 Cinnamon Stick
2 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Turmeric 
2 Tsp DhanaJeeru
1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 Tsp Mustard Seeds
1 Tsp Jeera Seeds
1 Tsp Hing 
4 Tbsp Oil

METHOD:
1. Peel and cut the potatoes in half. Boil until soft (12-15 minutes)
2. Drain and let it cool down. Leaving 1 potato aside, chop the potatoes down into bitesize pieces 
3. Heat some oil into a pan adding mustard seeds, let it pop then add jeera, then cloves, cinnamon, dry chilli, curry leaves and hing. This ‘Shepu-Batata Bhaji‘ is a traditional Indian side dish prepared with fresh dill leaves and potatoes. Dill leaves has strong aroma and pungent taste which could overpower if used in excess. To balance the bright flavours of dill, potatoes are used in this recipe. Additionally, I love to add coarse peanut power in my recipe that gives texture and bite to this dish. Pure comfort food, the best part is the soft fondant potatoes smushed into rice with a bit of chilli sauce on the side! When I’m away from home this is what I crave the most!
1 medium onion finely chopped
2tosp garlic ginger purée (you can use fresh I just use this as it’s an easy time sensitive shortcut)
5-10 fresh curry leaves
1 tosp coriander stalk
600g chicken thigh cut into 3inch squares
4 medium potatoes cut into the same size as the chicken
1/2 tin tomatoes (200g)
3tosp curry powder mixed in 100ml water (I’m using roasted mauririan curry powder here)
Extra water to top off curry (make it as saucy or thick as you prefer)
Salt to taste and coriander to garnish
