Our journey began with a single goal — to make content more relevant and relatable for our users. Since then, we've evolved from building a recommender system to creating one of the industry's most cost-efficient models, powering user experiences at scale. Last weekend, we took the next step — giving back to the community. Our first ML Meetup brought together some of the brightest minds across top tech organisations to share ideas, connect, and discuss the complex world of “recommender systems”. The session was packed with insights on how we’re pushing the boundaries of AI at ShareChat. The event kicked off with a captivating talk by Ankush Sachdeva, our Co-Founder, on “𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖 𝘽𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩-𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝘼𝙄 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙮!” followed by an engrossing talk by Yatharth Saraf on "𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙎𝙮𝙨 𝙀𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙐𝙨𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙂𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝘼𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙇𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝙐𝙂𝘾 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙨”. Together, these talks set the tone for the afternoon. Next, we dove into 2 deep technical talks by Jatin Mandav and Rasul Karimov on RecSys topics, “𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙊𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣” and “𝙍𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚”. We received an overwhelming response for the meetup, but with limited seats, we could invite only a select few. A big thank you to everyone who joined, asked thoughtful questions, and helped create a collaborative, high-energy space for learning.
