I created this Menorah from a ball of clay. It was first sculpted and then carved. Once out of the first firing it was glazed and then fired once again. Students will be presented with a research assignment about different rituals they partake in, they will write about holidays they celebrate and objects that represent them. I wanted to include a menorah because I have Jewish students in my class and representation is important.

MY FIRST MENORAH was made of silvery metal that tarnished in what felt like minutes. It had teeny painted animals aboard Noah’s Ark attached with flimsy metal rings.
