This is a nice game with a cool approach to the theme. I am so unlucky though, sometimes I was losing even before I got get my 2nd upgrade :(

Developer

Thank you for playing! Indeed the start is a bit hard to get lucky

Like your very detailed tutorial and intuitive interface. Not my genre, but it is fine. Nice work!

Love rolling the dice in this game! Btw how did someone get 'infinite' ? That awesome, I make most 1k……

Developer

Thank you for playing! Its just a number before it gets to big, it was the best way to manage it for the fort period of time that I had.

Submitted(+1)

It froze before I could get infinite cookies ;-;

Addicting little experience though, glad you could sneak this in before the deadline. From one dice game to another, great work!

Developer (1 edit)

You had that! sadly the leaderboard accept int as score, so the best solution I could find on the last couple of hours before uploading it was to make it infinite if the number is bigger than the max int allowed (the current amount of cookies was a float), and for the sake of the jam obviously, congratz! Thank you for playing, and thank you for breaking the game! Would love to balance it a bit more for a final release.

That was good! Straightforward, well explained and engaging. 👍

Developer

Thank you for playing! glad that you understood the tutorial, it was a bit hard to explain as simple as possible

This was a pretty fun game. Really simple mechanics and choices but kept me wanting to keep trying for infinite cookies (I couldn't get there though).

Games of chance like this are quite hard to get right with only a few days of balancing, and I feel like there could be a lot more tweaking of the upgrade cost scaling, number of allowed re-rolls, chance of getting a bad upgrade and also giving the player more options each round so that they're in more control of their risk management. This would make each roll feel more exciting and the player feel really good about their choice.

But again, what you've made in a few days is a really great game and take on the theme. Well done!

Thank you for playing! Indeed, the balance was something I didn't have enough time to tweak, I've gave it to a couple of friends but they were focusing on getting cookies instead of trying to focus on what it could be better haha.

Also I wanted to make some animations at least for when throwing the dice, rolling and upgrading, feeling a bit more alive, but since doing the art takes more time than coding for me it was really challenging.

This was the UI on Saturday before rushing to make the art while polishing the mechanics

Honestly, seeing the state of your game on the Saturday has inspired me to spend more time on mechanics rather than art. You managed to create something pretty engaging by just rolling dice! I spent a bit too much time on our game's art and atmosphere, and in the end didn't make a very captivating experience :)

Interesting idea getting your arsenal of dice + luck set up in order to make it deep into the doubling process.  I feel like the early game is a bit unfair as there is very little you can do to prevent bad rolls and any loss in HP early on takes away a lot of wiggle room in the middle game.  Once you're stabilized, however, it feels like the player has a lot more agency.  I found that I was way too reliant on just the luck and dice stats and that I needed to pad my life a little more often to guard against a random debuff.

Good stuff!  I also can't help but notice that submission time; congrats for making it in.  I also submitted with <10 minutes to spare for the "risk it for the biscuit" metagame.

Developer

Thank you for playing! As I said on other comments I wish I had more time and friends to play test the game and properly balance the variables, any feedback is welcome!

And never stop to think about how risky it was hahahah

Really amazing 1-man game, would have loved to have had a little bit more agency than two sustain options to select from.  I felt like the expression to luck ratio could do with some adjusting.  Had fun with this, just don't think I'll be joining the infinity club anytime soon.

The game had a fun idea, with some addicting gameplay. Perfect to get sucked in for a bit. A couple suggestions

  • It felt way to luck, which is fine, but i felt more annoyed when i lossed then excited to try again
  • Clean up the ui a bit, because it was quite messy

Overall well done, and it definetly gave me a dopamine hit

Developer

Thank you! Sadly I worked on the UI and art on the last day, wanted to make more animations and stuff but I focused on the mechanic and make it work too much maybe. Thanks for suggestion!

I saw some outrageous scores on the scoreboard - INFINITE and 1.28K ?  Gambling is a risk for sure and dice are a good odds game.   I didn't read the instructions at the start so I began a bit lost, but worked it out on another try.

Developer

Thank you! I had a hard time trying to make an easy tutorial an explaining every part of it. Glad you like it!

THIS GAME IS PEAK! Literally I was sweating thinking if I should risk it all or keep going.
I MADE IT TO THE TOP BTW >:)

Developer

Wooooow, you risk it all for sure!! hahahaha glad you like it and congratz for making it to the top

Very fun, very complete feeling little game! The rules are a tiny bit complex, but not so much that it's unlearnable. I think a bit more polish and some animations and this would turn into something even greater!

Developer

Thank you! I took some ideas from a boardgame that I have and wanted to me a gambling games haha. Yeah, the idea was to make some animations, specially for dice, like grabbing them making them throw and roll, but since I left the art for the end I didn't have enough time

I lost all my cookies :,) Nice little game. enjoyed it!

Thank you!
