Simple but a ton of fun. Found it very addicting and especially liked the "punchiness" of the game. Nice job!
I love it. the game play is fun
demands your attention and, when you say "yeah i'm gonna rate a lot of games tonight," you end up playing containment loop for thirty minutes instead.
i think adding a wall around the border and adding some music would bring additional immersion. maybe a pause menu too? i went ahead and listened to sabotage by black sabbath while playing, fit pretty well!
great work! :)
I thought I was the best player in this one until the blues arrived, but I found it super fun.
really fun game, lots of juice, and the death->upgrade loop is quite addictive. I didn't like the recoil on bullet too much, except that later I upgraded the fire rate too much and could just zoom around the map using recoil lol. Only issue is that the start feels a bit too weak, with low rate of fire and low damage, and (as far as i found) you never grow in size, which could have added to the power fantasy.
I loved this! Combining the survivors style with more active mechanics was genius :D
Was super addictive, I kept playing until I won, and I really liked how the feel of the game changed as you progressed.
My only feedback would be to reduce the screenshake a bit, it was a little too strong.
Overall a really great submission!
Really well done. I like how simple the player character is while still feeling really alien.
Also the shooting feels really good, that can be tricky to pull off.
Congrats!
Thanks my dude :))
I didn't figure out that you had to eat before I got on a dead enemy or even that you had to die in order to "evolve" so my first run was quite long as I found it fairly easy. I would have added a timer too and maybe more enemies. Nice execution anyway, it feels very polished!!
I didn't consider someone killing it like you LOL you're totally right a tutorial would've helped. I would've liked to implement the score more thoroughly as well thats a good point. And idk what to do about the enemies I had someone playtest that struggled to kill a few enemies at the start, perhaps the game was due a hard mode.
Thanks for the notes :)
The texture of constantly upgrading, killing, and eating body like cookies is so satisfying! The experience is great except for screen shake
I should have totally added a screenshake toggle in the settings! I thought I made it subtle enough to not offend but thats probably impossible. On that note I should have added settings haha
Thanks for playing :)
oh, there actually is an end
I WANNA PLAY MORE
also the only annoying part is collecting the bodies, like, add a magnet powerup of sth cuz it was too boring when I was going around eating them
but I love the game and I played it for an unhealthy amount of time xd
i had too many bullets and too high fire rate that the game sounds stopped working xd
also thtis is the stats but it wasnt the finla one cuz i didnt know it'll end now
was really fun playing it
you're totally right picking up all the bodies especially when you're fast is a PITA that's a great idea!
Thanks for playing alot :) I've never seen someone with as many dash upgrades loll
Nice game but I miss some background music. And I love the glow of the bullets!
Truuue I should have shopped around for something! Thanks for trying it out :)
Very addictive! Nice variation of abilities and enemies, they all felt unique and interesting. Smooth controls and really satisfying when you start becoming more powerful.
Thank you thank you :)
It starts out pretty slow, but with how fast the player scales you become an OP powerhouse really fast - it was super fun stacking upgrades over and over again until i was an invincible, teleporting ball of pain. I think the sound effects are really quiet, and the game could use some music. I really like the particle effects though! and all the animations are pretty smooth too, so the game's presentation is good despite the simple artstyle.
Thanks :)
and you're so right I was getting bored having to play the start over and over haha
The game has a slow start, but very quickly becomes INSANE! Each new enemy somehow takes combat to an entirely different level! But thanks to the exponential scaling of stats, I was able to keep up with each new opponent. And eventually, I became so powerful, I was like a god to them!!
Im glad to hear you ascended to godhood :)
My first run got me thinking "this is solid for a twin-stick shooter, but man... I wish it had some kind of progression system". And then I died.
I went all in on fire rate and blasted my way through like a gatling gun in overload, and I'm sure other people will have other playstyles that they'll enjoy as well. As far as twin-stick shooters go, this concept isn't anything groundbreaking, but in four days you managed to put down something that is thoroughly enjoyable for a couple of runs. You can pride yourself on that 👏
Thanks man I barely got it over the finish line lol. But you're right the whole time I was making it I couldnt shake the feeling that it was kind of a basic idea. I really prefer my game jams to go all in on the theme or have some whacky spin on it. IDK guess I should have just brainstormed more. Anyway ppreciate the kind words :)
I'll be real with you, to me it's more about how you do things rather than what you do. You made something that is fun to play. Regardless of what kind of game you made, I think that's still a win :))
That was really fun, i loved that you have to eat the bodies to heal and upgrade yourself, it pushes you to be more aggressive. I think it could have be nice to be able to upgrade the range too especially against the snipers
Thanksss and you right I toyed with the idea of upgrading range but was worried it would trivialize the enemies, but you can become super OP anyway so how is that a problem lol
good very good. I like the blood :)
I am sooooo proud of the gore. There is nothing that makes me happier - nay that brings me more satisfaction then the blood gushing from my fallen foes.
I like the style and the mood of it.
Thanks :)_
Enjoyed the killing spree experience hehehe
Thanks haha
