How does your game fit the theme?
The game reflects the loop of life, we care for our elders, and one day become them. The winding staircase echoes this cycle, each step a return to memory, and each loop is a passage through grief and toward acceptance.

The visuals are really atmospheric.

It's really an achievement to make something story-driven and that heartbreaking in just 4 days
Impressive work

The characters have a ton of personality!

Got here because you were ones of the last to submit and it shows - really impressive work with all the assets, and the story seem really touching. I was a little disapppointed I didn't figure out what to do with the apples, as I really want to se the ending for this

Developer

Hey! Thanks so much for taking the time to try my game 💛
As for the apples, you need to take the basket and collect them from the three trees and then interact with the granny from the front of the wheelchair. A short dialogue will trigger and after that the gate will open.

Sorry for the confusion, I definitely should’ve made that clearer. If only I had a bit more time!

The art is beautiful and simple and the story is good , I loved the ending with meaning of the cycle that we care to the elders and then we grow older and need someone to take care of us

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing and for the kind words! I'm really glad you liked the art and story :D

Sorry for the confusion about the apples part. You’ll need to pick up the basket first, then interact with the three apple trees in the garden. Once you've collected all the apples, go up to the granny from the front of her wheelchair and press interact. that should trigger the dialogue and open the gate.
Sorry again for the confusion I didn't have time to make the guidance more clear :'

i only interacted with one  , I will play it again and update my comment

after playing the game again , l realized that if you made the basket get full a bit more with every tree it would be more clear i think

and if you can make the walking sound lower

Developer(+1)

Thank you for giving my game another chance 😊 as for the basket getting full I think I will add it after the jam is over, I think that would indeed help the player or have a UI with the apple count.  As for the sounds in general, I worked on them last minute before the submission deadline so I admit that they need more work but I guess that's part of the jam experience haha!

Immense respect for the amount of effort put into this game- the art style, lighting, color palette, narration, and microinteractions are all spot on.

This is just a small nitpick, but I personally find true isometric games a bit visually challenging to play. The camera movement felt slightly off at times, particularly during the garden wheelchair section. Additionally, the player movement didn’t seem perfectly aligned with the isometric path.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you appreciated the little details.  And your feedback is totally fair and I get how it can feel disorienting especially the garden wheelchair section was hard to get right with that camera setup. so I appreciate you pointing it out., and thanks for taking the time to play and share your thoughts ☺️

Very beautiful, lovely visuals, as others have pointed out the gameplay is a bit slow, I understand that reflection is the core part of the game though, perhaps some calm music/ambiance would help fill the gaps more while allowing for that reflection, it goes without saying but what a nice story, great work!

Thank you!! I'm really glad you enjoyed the visuals and the story,  that means a lot to me ☺️ You're absolutely right about the pacing, especially in the garden section. I actually considered adding a sprint option, but it didn’t quite fit the experience I had in mind. And as for the music I really wanted to include it! If only I had a bit more time… (check the submission time and you’ll see what I mean haha).

OH MY GOD, just wow, were the heartbeat sounds in the game from you during those final seconds lol

Developer(+1)

literally! almost ended up in the grannys seat myself haha

Loved the narrative and theme of the game, and the art looks great! I personally found the heartbeat- and walking sounds jarring, but that's just me. Keep up the good work!

Developer(+1)

No you're totally right the walking sound especially the garden part was a bit annoying lol. I noticed that after I built the game actually.

I like the take on the idea, loved the art, it looks very polished. I feel a bit conflicted about pacing and movement fluidity. On one hand I think having it a bit slow paced works in its favor, but you can get tired rather easily.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I'm glad that you liked the art and the game concept. And you're totally right about the pacing, it feels a bit slow and that's because I aimed for something calm and reflective rather than fast paced. But I definitely see that it can become a bit tiring after a while.

the idea is intersting, like the visual, cool work

Submitted(+1)

Nice visuals and a meaningfull story. I really like how you used the theme. But movement is too slow its a bit annoying

Developer

Thank you!!!  as for the movement, it's indeed slow because I wanted to reflect the mood and pace of the story, but I totally get that it can feel a bit frustrating during gameplay. Thank you for sharing your thoughts ☺️

good art, and bittersweet story
