Our first jam of the year, with an emphasis on shaking the rust off and just making anything! New to jams? Put that new year's resolution to work and start here!

As we prep for our first big jam of the year in spring, the goal here is to just MAKE ANYTHING. Doesn't matter how good it is, just release something! Grab an (optional) prompt and go! Or don't grab a prompt and make whatever's in your nasty little mind! Make it bad! Make it dogwater! Just make something!

What is a Game Jam?

During a game jam, game developers aim to release a game to the best of their ability within a set time frame, usually centered around a specific theme, restriction, or both. The most important part is to release whatever you have at the end! Don't get in your head about it not being "good enough"- if you've released it, you've succeeded, and you'll have learned a ton to carry into your next project.

Schedule:

  • February 20 8:00 am CST: Jam starts! Prompts unveiled!
  • February 22 8:00 pm CST - Jam ends! Post your work in the ICG server!

Prompts

Prompts for this jam as voted on by our Kofi members are:

  • One Button
  • TOO MUCH UI
  • Oof, that's a big beef

It's highly suggested to use at least one prompt, but ultimately it's up to you.
