I love zines and I love media essays, but I've seen very few media essay zines, so I'm making this jam to unite both my loves and encourage others to create more of what I want to see in the world.

To participate in this jam you gotta:

  • Make a zine (It can be digital and/or physical, of any size)
  • That is a essay
  • About at least one piece of media (it can be a show, a song, a album, a scene from a movie, an entire artist's body of work, whatever u want)

That's it.

If you don't know what an essay is, this zine is the perfect explanation, but simply put understand essay here as: talking at length about something and reaching a conclusion.

Be academic, informal, silly, serious whatever rocks your boat. Just make something with love.

The idea for this jam is to make new essays, so don't submit essay zines you made previously. That said, taking an essay you made for school or something like that and converting it into a zine is fair game. I don't want good writing to be left to rot in academia.
