Ohhhh I was just thinking about Volatile Memory the other day actually, the last game with the lab and how interesting that was... and I'm glad to see another piece of this world !!! You have such a unique art style that I spent the entire time admiring the way you play with visual textures and patterns to give emphasis to different parts !!! I do not envy the position that Maia is in, but it is really compelling to watch the way the present mirrored the past... this was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it !!!
This was such a fascinating game, and I really enjoyed interacting with every little piece that I could get my hands on. From the very beginning, they are filled with character that only showcases how odd TITAN is.
From the paperwork of 538216 being "eerily similar" to 281219 in the very first room, to the way 281219 really does make a good effort to be a good worker towards their tasks, and the fact that there is no hesitation to grab at a weapon unprompted. The... animal being left alone to die while the more responsive beings are hunted is fun. I feel bad for the poor thing.
I really raised my eyebrows at how 281219 didn't comment whatsoever on the state of all the shared spaces, like the mess hall and admin office rooms, especially since nobody else mentioned it. You built up such a strong atmosphere of suspense and anxiety, it was really compelling. On that note, the threat of the game was revealed in SUCH a clever way, and the way it was all built up was even more exciting. AMAZING WORK !!
It's a little funny that I didn't realize that I haven't left a comment on this yet despite it being my most favorite game for months now.
The characters are rich and vibrant and incredibly full of life. Every time you have a character on screen, they make up the most of every second and every line. Each conversation, each interaction, and each expression feels intentional and layered. It is so fun, and I regularly go back to replay this and each time, I leave with something different.
Magnolia is a wonderful character. Her design is lovely, but the way that she acts and responds to things is even more so. She's selfish, proud, unapologetic, and so refreshing !! She is not a good person, but it is so easy to step into her shoes and follow the path she walks. Most of the time, when games offer dialogue options, it feels obvious when one is for making the players feel good and choosing the "nice" option and when the other is the opposite. Where the immersion is broken for the comfort of the players, but you don't hold our hand like this with Magnolia. Every one of her lines feels very authentic to the woman we come to recognize her as. It's refreshing and incredibly exciting !! I really love her !! Also, the relationship that she has with Mint is so endearing. It's amazing how much his presence influences her character as flavor text with him involves constant safety reminders and indulgences in his whims. "Careful around fire, Mint. I'm just locking the door. Yes, yes, anything else?" They are such a wonderful duo, and their relationship is one that deeply intrigues me.
I am also Incredibly Smitten with Dove. She is on screen for like 14 minutes, and each second is one where I am entirely focused on her. She's very bold and honest, in ways that are easily understood from the very start of her introduction. No wonder they were married, and of course they divorced. I just love her so very much.
There is so much that is said in this game, and so much more that is unsaid, that I find myself frequently over-analyzing the simplest things. This game brings me a lot of joy and I think about it daily. I just want to thank you for making and posting this, and also let you know how much I admire your work 🫶.
I really do love your games so much. You always manage to capture such fun character dynamics and establish even more fascinating themes, and it's so exciting to explore !!
I had a lot of fun playing this !! The game itself is really entertaining and I especially LOVED the cooking mini-game part. It's so cutie, and there was clearly a lot of love put into this project. I really liked seeing how the flavor text directly gave us insight to Rutile's thoughts and expressions over time, showing us how she was getting more comfortable and familiar with the house and with Alle herself. The puzzle for opening the safe was a little tricky, but it was really rewarding to me to figure out. It showed great insight for Alle and really made me pause for a moment to sit with the weight of the meaning.
Also ! The characters are so cute ! Rutile is so sweet and darling, she really reminds me of a deer caught in headlights for the majority of the game !! Her little ribbons on her dress in her casual-wear and on the back of her hat in her professional attire are SO charming !! I also really like how Alle's character is designed; she's gorgeous. The way that her hair is styled in each season of the game, mirroring her familiarity and developing closeness with Rutile is really fun to me !! They're such a curious duo, and the way that they act as foils is fascinating !! I don't know if it's a fair interpretation, but the way that Rutile and Alle have such ... cynical perspective on life and it only comes to a head after months together ?? Oh, it's so lovely.
The little tells around the game, between flavor text and Rutile's thoughts and Alle's possessions are so fascinating. I don't mean to repeat myself so often, but I really enjoyed getting to see things change over seasons as Rutile notices and thinks about them. The books in the library being read and having preferences, learning that the painting in the hall wasn't Alle's work, and being unnerved by the mirror at night. The way that each of these things can be interpreted and thought about at length is enjoyable to me !! I really love the way that you use the world as a medium for storytelling on things that wouldn't make sense to add as world-building through dialogue !! I'm looking forward to whatever comes next, and I am wishing you well !!
