The exact condition is: (1) collect at least 50 information and (2) it has to be nighttime (night or late night). When you meet those conditions, just entering the brothel or returning to the lobby after sleeping with a customer, will cause the event unlocking the backroom to trigger automatically. You can’t really see how much information you have, but 50 isn’t a ton, really. While it is possible to get no information from a customer, the minimum you get when you do find information is like 10 or so, and some people can drop like 20+ information.

This could be interesting. I’ve actually been considering maybe making a massively expanded version of this same combat system for a sequel/successor game that’s less focused on magic specifically, like a game where you can freely make different builds and you’d equip not just different spell schools but just different skillsets in general. So, I’m not sure how much of those ideas I want to bring into this game or if I just want to make a sequel someday with more build variety.

I think it’s unlikely I’ll add weapons other than the dagger, but some sort of martial arts oriented spell school that’s like magical fisticuffs could be really cool. Weapon arts or skills could also be interesting, and limiting players to one spell school for an advantage is a cool idea too. Thanks for all the ideas!

you need to find and speak to priscilla at night in uptown. if you haven’t done her quest yet you will need to complete it first, but after you finish it, just talk to her again and you can ask about Wimbol.

I’ve been experimenting, but it’ll be a while if I do it. You can play the web version on any phone or tablet, though, and you can also download the browser version and use JoiPlay for offline play.

I mean, you’re free to think whatever you want. I explained why I don’t think it’s offensive in my game. Also, stop acting like you represent a monolith. Not everyone finds it offensive and you can find discussions all over the Internet disagreeing about whether its offensive on its own, only as a slur, or even offensive at all. This isn’t like a settled matter. It is simply not comparable to the N-word. It’s a word the vast majority of people only find offensive in a specific context.

I can empathize if it’s a word that has specifically caused you pain and harm, and I am also open, as I said, to suggestions on what words to use instead while still making it clear to potential players what kind of content I’m referring to. The spell is called Ambae in the game, so I could just call futanari characters “Ambaeans” or something, but no one would know what that was, and people who like this sort of content, as I do, wouldn’t be able to find it. Listing this content as trans or intersex also isn’t accurate, and may be even MORE problematic.

I think this is an accurate use of the term “futanari,” referring to the fictional character type that has always been called that. I do not see it as a slur, and I would never call an intersex or trans person that. So yes, in effect, “it’s fantasy, so it’s fine” is my position, and I don’t see that as absurd at all. I wouldn’t call a lesbian couple “yuri” in real life either, and even though that isn’t a slur, that’d probably be at least somewhat offensive if someone actually said that.

An even better example might be if I was using the term “fairy” to describe a fantasy creature. Maybe that word upsets some people and sure I recognize that calling someone a fairy can be a slur, but if my game has winged tiny creatures and I call them fairies, that’s obviously not a slur.

I get where you’re coming from, but it’s meant to be a magical thing not a reference to real-life intersex people (or any real-life people), and those terms wouldn’t likely apply in this situation. I also don’t think it’s okay to call real people anything like “futanari” the same way I don’t think it’s okay to call a woman “slutty” even though that happens in this game since that’s part of (IMO) the kinkiness of it. That said, I also don’t feel the term when used neutrally to describe a specific type of fictional character can be fairly considered a slur at all.

Also, this game fetishizes a lot of things. It is porn after all. Again, if it is offensive to you, I hope you know that’s not my intention and I am open to hearing suggestions on how to fix it, but I also don’t think I’m using the term inappropriately or in an offensive manner. But I also get it if it’s upsetting. I still cringe internally when Frieza in DBZ calls Saiyans “monkeys,” lol. If this were a realistic/non-fantasy game and I was referring to trans or intersex characters as “futanari” I’d agree that that’s problematic, too, so I’m not trying to me dismissive of your concern. I just think in this case the term futanari is actually accurate. I could invent a whole new term, but then people wouldn’t know what I was talking about and people who are into this kind of content might not even realize it’s in the game.

no. that’s probably a good idea, but the next major update will unlock the game’s full level cap of 50 anyway, and after 50, XP will be converted to SP. I also plan to add more stuff to spend SP on.

Patreon-exclusive update is coming very soon (today or tomorrow). Free edition will still be a little while yet.

There are no plans for that at this point. Futanari is coming, though.

There should be a symbol next to them indicating they aren’t finished yet.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah the rain effect seems to be more expensive than I thought, so it’s something I’m considering adjusting, though I admit it’s currently pretty low priority. Yeah the gacha was a little busted I suppose, sorry if it spoiled your experience.

You can indeed only counter spells if the enemy is sanctioned, that means exactly what it sounds like, if the enemy isn’t sanctioned, you will just take the magic damage without any counter opportunity in most cases. However, with a very small number of exceptions, only a few bosses and boss-like enemies can actually use spells. That said, the demon fights more or less require Holy magic. There’s also a mantra that allows you to counterspell without sanctioning enemies. Nightsea magic also has an effect that allows you to perform counterspells if you meet certain requirements related to auras.

Sky is very good. I may nerf the wounds it inflicts. I think it’s weaker pound-for-pound in terms of damage output than more damage-focused spell schools though, so the tradeoff to the MP regen and rather comfy playstyle is longer fights. I do think it’s possible it’s too strong, though. Like you said, the game is pretty easy, so something comfortable to use and with a lot of utility is maybe too good to pass up.

It’s possible there’s too much emphasis on flawless victory and not enough on fast clears, and maybe that flattens the game’s strategy a bit too much. Maybe adding a bonus for ending fights within a small number of turns would be a good way to incentivize different, slightly riskier builds.

I’m so glad you liked the game! It’s so interesting you see them as representing a desire for freedom. I consider freedom to more or less be the core theme of Hex. It is a big theme in SS as well, but SS’s main theme in my opinion is probably more about justice or revenge on place of justice. It’s a revenge narrative, but while you’re on the hunt for your own very justified revenge, you become embroiled in a bigger and much more insane revenge plot that’s obviously over the line. And I think it’s interesting how those two things intersect. That said, it is a fap material game and I probably take the story way too seriously in both games, haha. But it’s very creatively fulfilling for me to be able to tell relatively dramatic stories while also writing perverted smut.

It should run on Steam Deck, at the very least.

Thanks for this detailed feedback!

The game is a little too easy for my taste and I would personally enjoy a Hard difficulty. I would like to see Sky and Holy magic as well as the Lust debuff nerfed a bit and for Lunar Magic to be slightly buffed.

A hard mode is coming, but I don’t want to just scale damage and HP, I’d like to actually make changes that reward good play like good aura management and clever spell combinations while punishing ‘bad’ play much more harshly. That’ll take time to develop, and honestly it’s not really a major priority right now. That said, a simpler hard mode for the interim might be a good idea. As far as buffs and nerfs, that’s a moving target. I actually just buffed Lunar in the last patch. I agree in general that Sky is too strong. I think Holy is okay, but it does overperform in some fights, but it’s also sort of supposed to.

In a similar vein I’d like mana management to be more prevalent, perhaps by repeated sex in combination with time passing without rest causing some kind of strain or stamina loss. MP gain from Attendants also need to be seriously nerfed.

Some sort of penalty for repeated sex without a break isn’t a bad idea. I’m a bit wary of forcing the player to like sleep or rest, but penalizing players for doing sex encounters back-to-back-to-back does make sense. I’m curious about why attendants seem to need a nerf to you in specific. They generally should give the same MP as anyone else, afaik.

Your sexual stats and how they level are not really explained, and on a similar Spirit Kin are not given a proper explanation in terms gameplay or story.

These systems are under construction right now, so they’re not fully explained. In the future, the sex stats will give you special abilities and very small stat bonuses, while the Spirit Kin will basically function almost as upgradeable equipment, if that makes sense.

The game lets you set your gender preferences which I like a lot but there isn’t any options for fetish preferences; you can avoid interacting with most of the fetishes if you don’t want to but the option would still be nice, especially since piss shows up so often.

I go back and forth on whether discreet options are necessary when I feel like most extra kinky stuff is optional well-labeled, but you’re not the first to ask for it, so it’s something I’ll consider!

Finally, the sex scenes are pretty good in a vacuum, but sex scenes with non-story-important npcs currently all use the same art for each that doesn’t account for the different npc appearances.

I do think some different variations of generic CGs could be a good idea, just for some variety, but honestly, I’ll probably just have additional sets of CGs added rather than matching it to the specific appearance of the random NPCs. For certain reasons related to how I programmed various systems, it would be annoying to try to match the appearance of most unnamed NPCs to specific sets of CGs. That said, never say never.

The biggest thing you get in the Steam Edition is all the premium cosmetics. Other than that, there are a few things that are still exclusive to the Patron Edition (mostly cheat stuff). The Steam Edition is sort of a midpoint between the Free and Patron Editions.

No, this version features a ton more content. The Steam demo is based around the old alpha version of the game and probably only accounts for about 20% or so of the content available in the other versions of the game right now.

When the Steam EA version of the game releases it will have roughly the same amount of content to the other versions of the game, along with some premium features. You should be able to transfer your save from the Steam demo and keep playing here to experience the rest of the game so far.

Oh, okay. Well, you can just avoid it if you don’t want to do it. I mean I feel like the real-time aspect is the main draw for the activity, you can do the normal blowjob encounters instead if you don’t like that concept.

This is referring to the real-time erotica game mode in the Richdon Port area, which is avoidable. You seem to be thinking of the active defense system, which is core to the game’s design and balancing and will probably never be made optional.

It’s a false positive. I can send it for varification sometime, but honestly, windows defender is just flagging 90% of unsigned apps these days.

There’s a setting for this. If you turn it all the way up, you’ll only get female clients and vice versa.

It’s the port wench activity in the Richdon Port area.

This is a preview of an upcoming feature.

Thanks for letting me know! You’re right, I can see what’s causing the bug. I’ll fix it for the next release.

It’s a spell you can buy for SP called Vicis.

Can you tell me what browser and what kind of system you’re on? Like is it a very old or underpowered system?

Maybe. Options like not having testicles and sizes may come in the future, but they won’t be a priority for the initial pass on the futanari content.

I’m glad you like the game!

Futanari is planned! Animal peoples are not planned as a transformation, but we may add like catgirls/boys or something like that in the future. Tentacle stuff could be interesting, maybe. It’s not planned, but it’s a cool idea.

You’ll be able to ‘equip’ them in a future update and they’ll provide passives and stat boosts.

It’s asynchronous, indirect multiplayer but the classification here on itch is too limited to represent that properly. I chose the classification I believe best reflects the game’s multiplayer.

You can’t directly play like a two-player mode, though. Instead, players create custom NPC servants that can visit other players’ games to sell things and have sex with them.

I’ll investigate this, thanks for letting me know.

I’ll investigate this. It may be a touch screen issue.

You can’t save on the main menu.

I would check the status menu (hotkey: A) to make sure you really aren’t pregnant, and also to make sure you are indeed fertile.

Both spots? If you’re referring to anal pregnancy that’s not a feature in this game (at least not yet). But if it were, you’d still only be able to do one pregnancy at a time.

Only the web version updates automatically. If you’re using the browser or windows version you have to download the new version. I can sometimes push small new updates or live events from the server, but I still need to update the client from time to time. Just download the game again to update it, all your settings and saves should carry over if you’re on the same system.

Rot will be the aura for the “curse” school of magic. It’s not in the game yet but it is planned. It’s actually one of the first magic schools I conceived of so that’s why rot has so many interactions already despite not being available to the player.

A school empowered by the sun is an interesting idea. Earth magic could be cool too.

It should be unlocked from the start, I believe.

Here’s the breakdown: https://outsiderartisan.miraheze.org/wiki/Editions_(Hex)

Basically the premium editions get updates in between major updates, they get early access to major updates, and they get bonus cosmetics. The Gold edition specifically also receives access to the offering box, which gives various bonus items and outfits for free.

But all story and erotic content will eventually come to the free edition.
