I'm amazed at the art! And actually everything else too. Sad that there is no sound, it could have elevated it to an even more amazing game!

The aesthetics are on point! I also had trouble figuring out how to catch them at first, but after that, it was a blast!

Got the rake and decided to go for the end. Right before, I got hit... should have gotten some more hearts.

Charming game!

This was done in three days? By one person? The polish, charm and amount of content is increadible!

The artstyle is adorable! I also appreciate all the polish that has been done, It's sometimes hard to notice by itself, but all together really makes a game feel complete! The humoristic touches near the end are also quite welcome!

This game was immensely funny! It kept reminding me of Undertale, take that as one of the best compliments there is!

I also can't believe it was made in only 3 days! Very impressive!

Thank you for the feeback!

I was planning on clarifying the slow-down mechanic more, but I wal already close to the deadline...

This is wonderfully silly! The sound effects fit perfectly!

Talking about art style, yours is really charming! I love the interaction animations, really well done! As other people noted, the ending was a bit abrubt, and more audio would have added a lot to the ambience. But overall I rated your game pretty well!

Believe me, if we would have had more time, I would have gotton obsessed with exploring the game mechanic and level design more, and of course, balancing it a bit better ;)

I gave it at try and loved the creativity! As someone trying to come up with fun game mechanics myself, I can really appreciate a well executed one like this!

The complement about the art means a lot, thanks!!

As a wise man once said "get good". I'm kidding obviously! haha

Thank for playing, chacked out your game as well, amazing aesthetics!!

Hahaha, I guess the story breaks the fourth wall then, I'll have to increase my rating! ;)

Thanks, I rated yours in the meantime! It was very engaging and it lends itself perfectly to expansion, but I know there are still time constraints!

I rated yours too! A fun little platformer, why reinvent the wheel right? I liked it!

Thank you so much! Your game was up there for me as well!!

Hi! Just took a look at your game, I'm really impressed! Makes me think of games in the 'papers please' genre, probably was an inspiration.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely pay attention to the difficulty more in the future!

It's the first time trying pixel art, so it means a lot!

I played through your game! The characters being sceptical about the means to an end suits the horror vibes! And like others said, the art is amazing! One thing, I got a litle impatient as the animations and screen transitions are on the slower end. Could have been a bit more fast-paced, but I got through it!

I just got back from your game! I love the dynamic aesthetic and voice acting, although the teleporting was a bit disorienting.

Quick tip: I'm playing on another keyboard layout (azerty, I know, we're weird ;) ), so the WASD movement was fiddly for me (but honestly I'm used to it by now, didn't take away from the experience). Anyway, I know Godot has positional key bindings so the layout doesn't matter, UE might have that too?

Thanks for playing and enjoy my review!

Hi all,

I've been pretty busy after the jam, but now that things have calmed down, it's time to get my ratings up! Of course, I’ll return the favor!

I've already received some endorsing feedback, especially about the creativity of the project. Overall, I'm really proud of what I managed to achieve as a solo dev on my second-ever game jam!

Since I'm not a huge fan of horror, I interpreted the jam's name ("SCREAM") as the theme, trading the horror aspect for something less intense. Go check it out!

Play as someone trying to lift their curse by casting spells - implemented as minigames - with the help of the local Soundweaver!

Thanks for the feedback, I reckoned that the weaving minigame should have gotton more polish. I planned on having multiple solutions possible as well, but as i only had time to make four characters, it was hard to make it make sense (otherwise there was less of a puzzle element to it). I checked out your game in return!

Talking about graphic style, your game looks amazing. I also lost track of time while playing and had a few heart attacks on the way, but finally got to the elevater. Thanks for playing, enjoy my great review!

Thank you, it was actually the first time making pixel art for me! I noticed the hit boxes being a bit inconsistent, wanted to improve clarity, but wasn't my top priority sadly... One can only do so much in 7 days. As I generally try to avoid horror games, I was on the tip on my chair when playing your game. Couldn't find Luis though :(

Thanks! I'm blown away by the game you submitted btw!

Thanks, that means a lot, especially for my second ever game jam! In return, I also played and rated your game. The camera was a bit disorienting but honestly fitted the game perfectly, so no complaints!

I gave your game a shot as well. The artwork is amazing and suits the music very well! Thank you for sharing and checking out my game!

Thank you! I tried and rated your game too. I'm always impressed by stunning 3D games, I'm still not confident enough to try it once.

Thanks for playing and adding a comment!! I'll be sure to play and rate yours tomorrow. It's midnight here right now, so I'm gonna get some sleep ;)

Your game is exactly what a game jam entry should be, fun and frantic! And the quality is amazing, I see this being built into a full game.

I would love for you to check out my first ever game jam entry (and basically my first finished game in general)! It's a puzzler, interpreting the theme in an original way! Be sure to read the how to play quickly, I got some feedback it's a bit hard to figure out how to start :). Thanks!

HOW TO PLAY

  • Plants grow when days go by
  • When fully grown, they produce seeds that you can drag around with the mouse (hold left click)
  • When plants die, they fertilize soil (the dirt patch becomes brown)
  • Seeds that are on fertile soil when a day goes by will start a new plant, completing the loop
  • Hint: no watering is needed
  • Hint: start with passing the day a couple of times, see what happens!

Got to play right after you posted! I have to admit, i did google most of the questions starting from the third attempt, wanted to see where it got me ;). The great voice acting is a big win in a game jam, thanks for sharing!

Hi! Just finished it, finding 4/5 signs! I like that its a really digestible game, small but polished and literally everyone will be able to finish it because of the death mechanic. Finding the routes with short enough falls also feels really rewarding. Thanks for sharing!

Hi, I played and rated you game yesterday! The visuals are stunning and i liked exploring the world you put together!

The atmosphere and visuals are breathtaking! Really enjoyed the experience!

This game looks beautiful and works really well with the theme, thanks for sharing!

Played and rated! Hope you took a look at mine as well ;)

Your game is stunning! Great work, I wish you and your partner the best!

I checked out your game (and rated it)! Normally, I don't like time constraints, but because it's short, it fits really well. I got it on the third try!

Be sure to check out the "How to play" section I added to my initial post before you play mine, it can jumpstart your understanding so you can enjoy it better :)

Thank you all for playing and commenting! I realize now that the game is not straight forward in how you actually are supposed to play it and hope none were too frustrated. As i don't know if editing the description of the page would disqualify me, i'll end this comment with a short "how to play".

I like platformers like yours! I wish I had the confidence to make one for a game jam. I stuck to a simpler idea for my first jam though.
