Old school orks

And some 'Orkytecture' :-)

I've got loads of these to wade through (especially boyz and bikes) and they'll get done eventually but I do get distracted.

The little tankette is from Zinge Industries and I think I might get another one and have a large shooter out the front. The building is more of a tester for the colours really. I've got plans for others and they will have more orky details on them like boilers and watchtowers. One of them will be a vehicle compound but I don't know what sort of layout as of yet.

Even more Old School cool

Although it's been a fair few months since the last lot of old school cool lol.

Plenty more Empire troops, more orcs and orks and some Eldar troopers. I'll let the pictures explain :-)

The intention is to use Galatic Heroes from Wiley Games for 40k and the normal core rules (there will be a medieval and fantasy set in the future that will get used) for the fantasy figures.

I'm still not great at taking photos, so apologies if some of them appear washed out.

What I have recently painted

Something a little different this time and hopefully a regular/irregular feature. Basically it’s what I’ve painted figure wise recently. I don’t get much time for my own stuff at the moment but I do try to squeeze it in here and there so below are a few shots of figures I’ve painted over the past month or two or three with a brief outline of the projects they are for but in no particular order.

An Eldar dreadnaught for an old school project which is mainly concentrating on orks and Imperial guard. The head now has a coat of gloss varnish on it but it's a sod to take decent photos of lol. No reason to have other little forces though :-)

Copplestone/EM4 figures for a small cartel project. I've gone for an eighties feel and hopefully the colours and t-shirt logos convey this. Everyone else in the project has gone for high tech moderns. I tend to get beaten a lot lol.

Austrian officer from Victrix I think. Austrians were my first Napoleonic force years and years ago (15mm) so it sort of fits to do them again. I do need to buy quite a few more though lol.

Star Wars! It's actually a Pig Iron figure with a Crooked Dice head. I've got a fair few other Pig Iron figures to do and most, if not all need some head work doing. The troopers are the Wizards of the Coast bendy plastics.

These are my own range of Boxer Rebellion Japanese infantry but with Perry plastic pith helmet heads and they are for the Royal Interplanetary Society for my ever expanding Mars project.

These are the GW plastic knights that have had some bits swaps and I think the conversions work fine. The leader is based on the GW Green Knight model with an Elector Count rider who's had arms and a hat conversion.

And finally we have a single knight from Crusader Miniatures painted for a potential Robin Hood project. No idea about the heraldry, I made it up.

Old school Guard

These are quite possibly are some of my favorite figures. Copplestone Rogue Trader Imperial Guard!

I've collected quite a few over the years and finally feel confident enough to paint them. So far I've got one squad, a rhino, a sentinel and a commissar. Not a massive amount so far but there's plenty in boxes just waiting to get paint o them :-)

I've gone for one of the original looks, grey fatigues, black flak armour and standard boltgun grey for the weapons. The weapons on the troopers have been changed for the modern Cadian plastics as I'm not keen on the original lasguns (too eighties, if that makes sense). The sentinal and rhino have been done in codex grey and have had suitable weathering. there's also a modern gun on the rhino and I'm thinking of losing the lascannon on the sentinel and changing it for something smaller (I've got three sentinels but no mutilasers for them).

Figure bases are red to try and match my Mars terrain as I fancied something a bit different rather than the usual green.

Some more Rogue Trader?

And why not :-)

Just a sentinel for he Imperial Guard for now but I've got a few metal troopers primed.

In hindsight I'm not to sure about the lascannon but it's on a peg and could do some work to it. It has bee suggested that t could be chin mounted but we'll see after I've had a play with it first. I've also got some vincent black shadow bikes, some dreads and a couple of rhinos that'll get the same codex grey paint job (nice and easy).

I also got some more orks done and a cyboar rider with a family shot at the bottom.
