Hybridi art journal työni 'Linnut' teemaan. Suunnittelin ja toteutin sen käyttäen aiemmin käsin värikynillä taustoineen maalaamaani muotokuvaa, ja nyt uudelle digitaalisesti fotosopissa tekemälleni taustalle hieman muunneltuna siirrettynä.

Taustalla ovat sanat: 'Puutarha ei ole täydellinen ilman höyhenpeitteisiä ystäviäni.'

Hybridi-Art journal-työni 'Puut'-teemaan.

Fotosopissa liitin arkistostani valitsemaani taustakuvaan käsin akryyleillä maalaamastani 'Vihreäsilmäinen tyttö' maalauksesta kasvot. Tein tehosteita ja kirjoitin Vincen van Gogh'in mietteen: 

'Näen kaikkialla luonnossa, kuten puissa sielun.'

Elder Tree magick/Selja-puun taikaa

Trees are widely considered magical, spiritual or sentiment beings in many traditional folklore. Many cultures treat trees as living spirits or guardians, e.g. 'Elder Tree Mother' or 'Old Girl' is the spirit like a wood-nymph that lives in the elder tree, and is requiring permission to cut it to avoid misfortune.

I created my hybrid art journal page using as 'Elder Tree Mother' my hand painted face beneath:

'Black jacket girl'

I made som digital alterations in the portrait adding filtering and cutting out it's background and jacket.

The hybrid page's background was made in Photoshop with several layers and digital effects. The Elder Tree is a separate png- image, that I gave several effects and made alterations. 

I finished the work with typing the texts and adding some images like the wreath, bird, and overlays.

Monissa kansanperinteissä puihin yhdistyy magiikkaa, henkisyyttä ja tunnetta; useissa kulttuureissa pidetään puita elävinä olentoina sekä vartijoina.

 Esimerkiksi Selja-puuta kunnioitetaan ja kysytään siltä lupa katkoa tai kaataa, että vältytään epäonnelta elämässä. Puita kutsutaan nimillä kuin eläviä olentoja kuten 'Selja-puu Äiti' tai 'Selja-Tyttö'. Mustaseljasta tuli Skandinavian pyhäpuu.

Hybridi-työssäni käytin puu-nymfinä eli luonnonhengettärenä käsin maalaamaani kasvokuvaa irrotettuani se ensin taustastaan ja tehostamalla filtterillä. Laitoin sille lisäksi seppeleen päähän. 

Taustan tein digitaalisesti usealla kerrostumalla ja tehosteita lisäämällä. Selja-puu on erillinen pmg-kuva ja tehostin sitä samoin digitaalisesti sekä lisäsin linnun sekä kirjoitin tekstin 'Selja-puu Äiti' sekä ylös:

  'Selja-Tyttö anna minulle puutasi, niin annan omaani, kun kasvan puuksi.'

To Plant a Tree/Istuttaa puu

'When one plants a tree, they plant themselves.'

 My hybrid art journal page for the challenge theme 'Trees' at Art Journal Journey hosted by Gillena this month.

I created the page using my earlier watercolor painting 'Girl and roots' beneath, and for it in Photoshop now made digital background. The image material for it was chosen from my archive. I finalized the work typingn the texts.

Easter Bonnet/Pääsiäishattu

 

My hybrid artwork for the theme 'Easter Bonnet' at Digital Whisper.

I cropped my hand with acrylics and oil pastels painted 'girl and birds' from my earlier made work, and set her on the 'Easter Bonnet' page with other Easter related elements. I made the background with the overlay material that I chose

 from my archive. There seems to be a some kind of conflict with the birds 😉

In the flower field/Kukkaniityllä

 

        My hybrid art journal page for the theme 'Spring forward' hosted by Chris at Art Journal Journey this month.

I made the background from a flowerfield photo, that I altered with the digital filter that I chose in Photoshop.

 Then added my acrylics hand painted face that you see beneath. I made more some coloring with digital painting brushes onto the face, and finished the work with the sun and Dolly Parton's words: 

"You gotta bloom where you're planted."

So my girl beneath brokens to burst with the flowers.

Muunsin ensin kukkaniitty-valokuvan valitsemallani filtterillä Fotosopissa ja sitten annoin aiemmin käsin maalaamalleni kasvolle siellä maalaus siveltimillä lisää väriä. Näin kasvotkin puhkesivat myös kukkaan.

Spring forward/Kevät edessä

My hybrid art journal page for the Chris's theme 'Spring forward' at Art Journal Journey Challenge this month.

I set my earlier acrylic hand painted girl face beneath on the new background that I made with the digital painting teknic, and adding other images chosen from my archive onto it. I think that the colors yellow and grass green bring best Spring in my mind.

I've cropped them out of the original backgrounds. I altered the girl's hair painting now on the computer screen with digital brushes of the photoshop.

'Life is a collection of moments'

My hybrid-art journal work for the Wendy's theme 'A moment in time' at Art Journal Journey this month.

I used on it my earlier acrylic painted girl face, which I now added with a layer mask technique on the new background that I digitally designed for it.

On the art journal's background you see the autumn leaves that I've picked up from nature and dried. The other added images are from my archive. 

I like how the leaves are saved their natural texture; and I think the girl enjoys the moment there on the new digital BG that I made her 😊

I finished the page with the text band that I made with the digital techniques.

'Elämä on kokoelma hetkiä' 

Hybridi-työni teemaan 'Hetki ajassa'. Käytin siinä aiemmin akryyleillä maalaamaani tyttöä, ja tein kuvalle nyt uuden taustan digitaalisin työkaluin.

Uudella taustalla on syksyn lehtiä, jotka olen poiminut luonnosta ja kuivattanut. Pidän niistä, koska lehdissä on säilynyt hienosti niiden alkuperäinen tekstuuri.

Lisäsin taustalle muutakin kuvamateriaalia arkistostani. Minusta näyttää nyt, että tyttö viihtyy uudessa ympäristössään 😊
