Content Refresh Guidelines
December 2017(version 2.0)
Trustpilot defines a Content Using Customer as a company that has obtained a limited non-exclusive license from Trustpilot to use and/or display Trustpilot Content related to that company's websites on their own platform. For a company to be a Content Using Customer, it is a requirement that the company is subscribing to Trustpilot’s paid services.
Trustpilot defines a Content Using Partner as a company that has obtained a limited non-exclusive license from Trustpilot to use and/or display specific Trustpilot Content related to third-party companies on their own platform. It is a requirement that a Content Using Partner has a written and valid partner agreement in place with Trustpilot.
In this document, a Content Using Customer and a Content Using Partner are collectively referred to as “Content User(s)”. Please refer to the specific contractual terms in place between Trustpilot and the Content User for a definition of Trustpilot Content.
Trustpilot requires that a Content User must adhere to the requirements in this document and in the contractual terms in place between the Content User and Trustpilot when using Trustpilot Content.
The Content User’s platform may retrieve Trustpilot Content from Trustpilot’s API in real time. However, in some situations, the Content User may need to copy Trustpilot Content to its own platform and to have its own applications use this copy of the Trustpilot Content instead of retrieving the Trustpilot Content in real time. Such needs could arise from e.g. operational requirements for the Content User’s platform or application design. It is the Content User’s decision whether there is such a need.
If the Content User decides to copy Trustpilot Content to its platform, the Content User assumes and accepts responsibility for keeping the Trustpilot Content up-to-date and accurate and must comply with the requirements of this document.
Requirements
The Content User must ensure that Trustpilot Content that is used on the Content User’s platform is always accurate and up-to-date.
By using Trustpilot Content from Trustpilot’s API in real time, the Content User will be using accurate and up-to-date Trustpilot Content.
Should the Content User choose to copy Trustpilot Content to its own platform, the Content User must ensure that the copy of the Trustpilot Content is kept sufficiently accurate and up-to-date by complying with the following:
Ensure that new Trustpilot Content is reflected on the Content User’s platform within a maximum of 24 (twenty-four) hours after the Trustpilot Content was created.
Ensure that changes of Trustpilot Content are reflected on the Content User’s platform within a maximum of 24 (twenty-four) hours after the change took place.
Ensure that deletions of Trustpilot Content are reflected on the Content User’s platform within a maximum of 24 (twenty-four) hours after the deletion took place.
Own and manage any feedback made to Trustpilot or to the Content User about Trustpilot Content used on the Content User's platform not being updated or being inaccurate and ensure that such feedback is resolved with urgency.
The Content User must refer to https://developers.trustpilot.com/ for requirements and guidance on how to integrate with Trustpilot’s platform.
