Laureen Harris
Partner
Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP
A partner in Forchelli Deegan Terrana’s tax certiorari practice group, Laureen Harris has established herself as a credible authority on tax certiorari proceedings within New York State. With more than 40 years of experience, Harris has gained extensive trial and appellate experience, while creating legal precedent in a myriad of areas, both in terms of valuation and legal principles.
In July 2024, the attorneys and staff of Cronin, Harris & Associates–Harris’ law firm–joined Forchelli Deegan Terrana. The addition of the firm to FDT’s existing tax certiorari practice group further bolstered FDT’s position as a preeminent real estate tax law firm in New York State.
An accomplished real estate industry veteran and community advocate, Harris is a newly appointed gubernatorial member of Empire State Development and the president of Association for a Better Long Island, where she has been a member of the board of directors since 1996. She is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association’s tax certiorari and condemnation committee, which she previously chaired. Harris is also a founding member and president of the Wilbur F. Breslin Center for Real Estate Studies at Hofstra Law.
Harris was until recently a gubernatorial appointed trustee of the Long Island Power Authority. She is also a former downstate chairman for tax certiorari and condemnation for the New York State Bar Association.
Harris earned her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College. She has been named to City & State New York’s Long Island Power 100 annually since 2018.
