Cody Schwab, formerly known as iBDW, is a Melee Fox main from Rochester, New York. He was ranked 2nd in SSBMRank 2024.

Biography[edit]

Cody's breakout performance was at Smash Summit 8, where he beat S2J, moky, Mang0, aMSa, and Hungrybox en route to a 4th place finish.

At Riptide 2021, Cody placed 1st, joining the short list of players to ever win a major tournament. Highlights of this run included a 3-1 victory over Hungrybox, and double-eliminating Plup in both the Winners and Grand Finals.

On May 15, 2022, he became the second player to place first at two consecutive Smash Summit events, winning both Smash Summit 12 and Smash Summit 13. The first player to achieve this feat was Armada.

On October 22, 2023 after falling into the losers bracket outside of top 64, losing 3-1 to Morsecode762, Cody went on to go on an 11 set losers run, including beating Hungrybox, aMSa, Zain, Mang0, and Plup twice to win The Big House 11 and completing arguably the greatest losers run of all time.

On December 15, 2023, after being virtually tied with Zain in the fight for number one, Cody won The Match: The Fight For Number 1, a showmatch to determine who was number 1 for SSBMRank 2023, 10-7. His efforts were recognized on January 26, 2024, where he became number 1 on SSBMRank for the first time in his career.

On February 19, 2024, Cody added another supermajor to his belt, winning Genesis X. In doing this, he became only the fourth player to win both a GENESIS and a Big House melee event, joining only Mang0, Armada, and Hungrybox.

He joined Mentality Esports on September 6, 2018.[1] He left the team on March 3, 2019 due to Mentality Esports shutting its doors.[2] He joined Polar Ace on March 9, 2019.[3] He left the team on August 28, 2019.[4] He joined Panda Global on May 5, 2020.[5] He severed ties with Panda on December 2, 2022 amid the controversy regarding the cancellation of the Smash World Tour 2022.[6] On January 20, 2023, he joined Counter Logic Gaming.[7] On April 5, 2023, he was released from Counter Logic Gaming after the team was sold.[8]

He joined Eggdog Esports on July 7, 2023, on a per-event basis from Ludwig Ahgren Championship Series 5 to Shine 2023.

On March 1, 2024, he joined Nouns Esports. [9] He parted ways with Nouns Esports on December 19, 2024.[10]
