Biography

[edit]

Nairo was picked up by Team Liquid on August 12, 2015. He left Team Liquid on August 16, 2016.[1] 8 days later, on August 24 of the same year, he joined NRG Esports as their first ever fighting game player.[2]

On July 2, 2020, fellow player CaptainZack accused Nairo of having a sexual relationship with him. At the time, CaptainZack was 15 and Nairo was 20.[3] This account was corroborated by Tweek.[4] Following the allegations, Nairo deactivated his Twitter account for several hours, then released a statement apologizing for his behavior.[5] NRG Esports cut ties with Nairo on July 2, 2020 due to these allegations.[6] On October 28, 2020, Nairo issued another statement explaining his version of the events, including claims that CaptainZack had raped and blackmailed him.[7][8]

Nairo made one final update on February 19th, 2021, explaining that everything was resolved that he was considering going back to streaming.[9] After it was released, many players started requesting for Nairo to be unbanned from tournaments and to be unbanned from Twitch, making #UnbanNairo trend on Twitter with over 200,000 tweets and making it reach the top of the trending list.

On March 12th of the same year, 2GGaming would lift Nairo's ban from their events.[10]
