Gaius is such a dad. And loves his (adopted) son so much, and dotes on him, and has given him many useful life advices. Cid is hitting That Age and Gaius is sure Midas hasn’t given (and won’t be giving, knowing how little he’s at home) young Cid The Talk about, well, Sex Education. So he sits Cid down, and they talk about sex, masturbation, consent, preferences, etc. Gaius loves giving long speeches, and Cid loves learning new things. No incest, no underage. Just wholesome dad-son talk.

Nero is seething with jealousy over Cid getting “noticed” by the Legatus before him, especially because half the time Cid doesn’t even seem to want it, and imagines himself in Cid’s position instead. OP doesn’t mind if the writer wants to include a little bit of messy, confusing Cid/Nero feelings in all this as well (aka the implication that Nero is hideously jealous in both directions, although probably confused about or denying any attraction to Cid in favour of focusing on Gaius) but it’s not the main focus of the prompt.
