The Teardrops were an American girl group from Cincinnati, Ohio popular during the mid to late 1960s. Original members included Dorothy "Sunni" Dyer, Linda "Lin" Schroeder, Pat "Punkin" Strunk and Wanda "Wendy" Sheriff. Later members included Hazel "Tinker" Smiddy, Bobbie Frost and Susie Leight.

The band was discovered In the winter of 1963, at the Tulu Club in Cincinnati, when members of group sang various "doo wop" songs a cappella to fill in for "The Squires," a band which did not show up to perform.

The group were spotted by musician/arranger George 'Bud' Reneau , who introduced them to his partner and songwriter Paul Trefzger. The original trio of Sunni, Lin and Punkin were signed by Bud and Paul to their regional label, Saxony Records, in 1964.

The now-quartet recorded several singles for Saxony and received local airplay in Cincinnati and other cities across the US.

The Teardrops' local success had them opening for The Beach Boys and Sonny & Cher.

The group underwent some personnel changes in 1967 and eventually marriages and life and career changes broke the group up in 1969.
