Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin
Vyacheslav Volodin is a Russian statesman and political figure. Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly from October 5, 2016. Born into a large family. His father was a captain of the river fleet and died at the age of 51. After his father's death, he was raised by his stepfather. In 1986 he graduated from the Saratov Institute of Agricultural Mechanization with a degree in mechanical engineer. In 1989 he defended his Ph.D. thesis. During his studies, Volodin attended the military department, attended military training at the Ulyanovsk Tank School, upon graduation he received the rank of lieutenant, and after his studies he took courses at a military institute, rising to the rank of reserve colonel. In 1995, he graduated from the Russian Academy of Public Administration, receiving a degree in law. Already in 1996, he defended his dissertation at the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on the topic 'Subject of the Russian Federation: problems of power, lawmaking and management' and received the degree of Doctor of Law.
In 1990, he was elected as a deputy of the Saratov City Council. Since 1992 - Deputy Head of the Saratov Administration. Since 1994 - Deputy Chairman of the Saratov Regional Duma. In 1993-1996 he worked as vice-rector at the Volga Personnel Center, was a professor at the Department of Constitutional Law. In 1996 - vice-governor of the Saratov region. In 1999, he was elected to the State Duma of the third convocation. At the parliamentary elections of 2003, he was elected to the State Duma of the fourth convocation. In 2007, he was elected to the State Duma of the fifth convocation. Since 2009 - Head of the Department of State Construction, Faculty of Public Administration, Moscow State University. From February 2, 2007 to October 21, 2010 - Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the fifth convocation. On October 21, 2010, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Prime Minister - Head of the Government Staff. December 27, 2011 appointed First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration. On October 5, 2016, he was elected Chairman of the State Duma of the VII convocation.
