Aunt Oona sings a Donna Summer song

Who knows why Donna Summer was selected to play Steve's Aunt Oona. She wasn't an actress, and her performance as Aunt Oona was ineffectual. This is, of course, until she starts to sing. At the talent contest, Steve suggests that Aunt Oona get up and sing. This was where I started to like the episode. All of a sudden, Aunt Oona was gone, and we had Donna Summer! She now looked like the beautiful woman that she was, and she performed one of her best songs. Interestingly, Donna Summer's music was clearly not of the generation that was current at the time. Great choice! It was good to hear real music, instead of rap. Donna Summer literally redeemed this episode with her great performance. Everything was pretty underwhelming, up to that point.

    • Goofs
The competition of choice is supposed to be a karaoke contest. Typically, karaoke requires only the tune of the song being played and the lyrics are on a screen for the participant to sing along accordingly. For all intents and purposes, this is more of a talent contest instead of karaoke.

      Steve Urkel: Aunt Oona!

Aunt Oona: [creeps up to the door] What?

Steve Urkel: [brings her in to meet the Winslows] Oh, come on. Come on, come on, come on, come on. Now, they don't bite, and even if they do, they've already had their shots.
