    Voyage of the Dammed

Ignore/forget the laboured episode that was supposed to celebrate the show turning in 100 episodes and instead focus on this one, which actually does highlight the show at its best.

It's got farce, it's good terrific wordplay, all the actors seem up for it rather than lethargic (see the last episode for evidence of a group of phoning in a performance) and it all comes together to be a great 22 minutes of comedy.

Credit to David Hyde Pierce, who not for the first time absolutely steals the show.

This is enormous fun and for me would have been a much more fitting way to celebrate what makes 'Frasier' the great (some would say legendary show) that it is.

Almost hit an iceberg with this one.

Very funny episode. Starts when Frasier gets booked on a cruise for a lecture he is doing. Fun starts when he, Neils, Martin and Roz get on the ship. Frasier learns that the cruise is basically hosting 3rd rate acts which dampens his pride. Frasier, along with Martin invite Maris along the cruise. Which only gets Neils in trouble when a woman starts to flirt with him, causing Neils to get wet and some waiters to get rich. The gang tries to help Neils by breaking into Maris room to talk to her, only they end up hiding in the bathroom. Ending is funny, plus we get to see Maris! Kind of. This episode is full of funny one liners. Give it a try. I am sure you will get a few chuckles along the way.

So very, very tired of Maris plots

The writers on this show must have very little imagination as we get episode after episode based on some aspect of Maris. She filed for divorce many episodes ago and Niles appears to be moving on only to have the plot returns to Maris. For an imaginary character she has way to much staying power. No one cares any more and this Maris fascination quit being funny a long time ago. Just...stop it!

    Shipmates

Everyone but Daphne ends up on a cruise ship to Alaska where Frasier is to make a speech to a group of celebrities. It turns out that there is hardly anyone notable on the boat and Frasier has quite spartan quarters. The problem is that because two people blabbed, Maris ends up on the cruise. There is a really funny comment about a coat on a hatrack. It's another one of those hide-in-the-closet episodes but it has some moments.

    • Trivia
Some viewers were concerned by the fact that Roz (Peri Gilpin) drinks alcohol in this episode, as it aired after the episode where she learned she was pregnant. However, this show was intended to air before Roz knew of the pregnancy, but was pre-empted for the baseball playoffs.
    • Goofs
When Eddie shakes himself off from the rain, the closeup of him doing so shows water droplets on the floor. In the following long shot, the water is no longer there.
    • Quotes

Roz Doyle: [Roz, Martin and Frasier are trapped in Maris' bathroom. Looking through the keyhole] I don't see Maris. Maybe she left.

      [she looks again]

Roz Doyle: No, wait. She's still there. I see her coat on a hatrack.

Dr. Frasier Crane: Look again, very carefully. Did it move?

[Roz gives Frasier a horrified look at the realization she was seeing Maris]

    • Crazy credits
When the title "Frasier" (in yellow letters) and the usual silhouette of Seattle are on screen, a rain cloud that starts to emit rain appears in the sky.
