In this episode we see a different side to the chandler character very well played by Canadian actor Matthew Perry who displays extreme embarrassment at her mom being a successful novelist but don't you dare kiss her! Morgan Fairchild should have been in more episodes
Normally an episode of "Friends" that prominently features Matthew Perry's Chandler raises the quality, but it's bit the case here.
Plot In A Paragraph: Chandler's (Matthew Perry) flamboyant romance-novelist mother comes to New York to promote her latest book which means he has to ensure a visit, and when they all go out for a meal a Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) brings Paulo which upsets Ross (David Schwimmer) and he gets very drunk, and makes an embarrassing mistake that puts his friendship with Chandler in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Monica (Courtney Cox) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) fight over a guy they accidentally helped put in a coma.
Not a bad episode, just not as good as the four in a row where Perry knocked it out of the park. I'm disappointed Paulo continues to return, as I'm not a fan of his. It's no fault of Cosimo Fuco who does what he can with the character.

They pretty much cover everything.
A very decent episode. Worth a rewatch every 5 to 10 years?
Not a must see again.
Just the gang doing stuff...typical sitcom style.
I think Joey defending his mom's looks a few times made me laugh the most.
Everything else was just ho hum.
I know he's "the bad guy", but watching these episodes 20 years later.... I like Paolo. He never really does anything deserving of the ire. Well...until later on at the massage place.

This episode focuses mostly on Ross and deepening his desire for Rachel, it moves the storyline along over all but when watching on its own it may seem to drag. The thing I love most about the first couple seasons is that the acting is natural, the writing is solid, no over acting like in the later seasons where it just gets hard to sit through...growing up I loved Chandler but as I grow I just think he comes off so impish and unlikeable, I mean in season one he makes sense but he becomes irritating to me, whereas I use to be bored with Joey as a teen watching this in the 90s but now I see him as the most solid male character, he is just lovable thru and thru, he is so sweet defending his mom. I really enjoy Heather Locklear er I mean Morgan Fairchild cameo as Nora Bing, those two actress are identical, she jolts some energy and chemistry into the gang. Any episode where Phoebe sings an original song is just so fun, she is such a great character and get and Monica have such a fun dynamic because they are both competitive in different ways.
