    No Place Like Home

The fish out of water scenario loses its lustre when the Clampetts are back home.

Everything feels cosy but the weather. Elly May is a farmgirl had home with all her animals.

Cousin Pearl still has eyes on Mr Brewster. She offers to play piano on the silent version of Ben Hur. A chance to show her verbality. There is more to Cousin Pearl than cooking and cleaning.

Only Grandpa Winch (Paul Winchell) is not happy that someone else might be lusting after Cousin Pearl. Or that she has eyes for someone else.

So Grandpa Winch connives to get a kiss from Cousin Pearl.

I think Winchell plays Grandpa Winch as both creepy and amusing.

That man is so in love with me he can't eat.

The Clampetts are back home. Daisy has to get reacquainted with her animal friends. Pearl plays piano for the movie score. The Clampetts seem more comfortable back home than they do in Beverly Hills. It's a shame that they go back to Beverly Hills. I enjoy seeing Jethro and his twin sister together. The series was always fun to watch.

    Edit
    • Trivia
The title is based on a line from The Wizard of Oz (1939) ("There's no place like home"), a movie that Buddy Ebsen was originally supposed to star in but was forced to drop out of due to a severe allergic reaction to his Tin Man makeup.
    • Goofs
Actor Paul Winchell plays Cousin Pearl's unwanted suitor. Everybody calls him "Homer Winch" but only the cast list refers to him as "Grandpa Winch," even though he's nobody's grandfather.
    • Quotes

Elly May Clampett: Would you take this here fur coat?

Cousin Pearl Bodine: Your mink? For... for keeps?

Elly May Clampett: I sure would appreciate it. It makes my friends in the woods kinda skittish. They must reckon I'll be wearing them next.
