    • Trivia
This was the last episode taped, although it was not the intended series finale.

Originally, the episode was supposed to air on April 14, 1982 but was burned-off in the summer by CBS.
    • Goofs
When Jennifer is trying to save Herb, she sends Les in to talk with Mr. Carlson from 10:45 to 12:15. She has her meeting with Mr. Sherman, in a building very close by, presumably sometime around 11 or 11:30. She then returns to the station. As Les is leaving his meeting with Mr. Carlson, she tells the "super new staple remover" salesman that he can go right in. When Mr. Carlson comes out to ask if there is a meeting scheduled with the "Super New Staple Remover" salesman, she tells Mr. Carlson that he has a meeting scheduled with this man from 4:15 to 6pm. This would indicate that 5 and a half hours passed since the start of the meeting with Les; Jennifer should have indicated the meeting would last from 12:15 to 2.
    • Quotes

Arthur Carlson: [pointing at the large advertising posters] Well Herb, what do you think? What we have here is a commercial for Soul Suds shampoo, a shampoo which is exclusively marketed to the hip black customer. Am I correct?

      Herb Tarlek: Yes, sir.

Arthur Carlson: [looking at the photo of Herb on the ad] Then why are we looking at a picture of this really idiotic-looking white man?

    • Alternate versions
In the 90's redistribution package, act 1 starts a few seconds late in order to eliminate the Huey Lewis & The News song Johnny plays. Also, the Jr. Walker and the All Stars song Johnny plays is replaced with generic music, but Johnny's announcement of the group remains intact.
