There's even good in Claude Akins

Robert Vaughn is the guest star in this Wagon Train story where he plays a fledgling minister who has decided to see if he can get outlaw Claude Akins to go and stay on the right side of the road.

Is there anyone here believing that Claude Akins is redeemable? He's not, well because he's Claude Akins and those were the kind of parts he played. It was only later in his career that he played some of those bad guys with a bit comedy attached.

Ain't no way that someone like him would have been worth the time and trouble to convert. And no way Ward Bond would have allowed him freedom of the Wagon Train. A known outlaw like him, he would have put him in custody and held him until he found out if he was currently wanted and no one would have blamed him. Not like in those days Akins could have sued him.

Just one of the most lame and weak episodes in the history of the series.

    • Trivia
Robert Vaughn and Claude Akins had previously co-starred in an episode of Zane Grey Theatre (1956) titled Courage Is a Gun (1956), and both would be seen together again almost exactly five years after this show's airing when Akins would play a villain to Vaughn's Napoleon Solo in an episode of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964) titled The Very Important Zombie Affair (1965).
