I love the road trip with House , Wilson and Gabe . That it's so watchable it's a tribute to the three actors as I detest the Tritter arc. The interaction between them is a rare treat. How House wanted to be a doctor over research. We learn things at the most unexpected moments!
It's also interesting that only Foreman isn't intimidated by Tritter other than House.

This episode puts House, Willson and a patient all together in a small space where they are force to ask themselves questions. I loved that! They actual patient was barely present.
However, the investigation plot is disgusting. It's like this low-tier cop is looking for a way to get suspended with pay. He's been sneaking into the hospital in the past two episodes just to harass the staff and make ominous claims. He interrogates people without a lawyer being present.
All of this while an obvious conflict of interest is present. This whole deal should is just annoying to watch. Everytime it's brought back I can't help but to roll my eyes in disgust. I hope it goes away soon. House doesn't need an enemy. He needs puzzles.

New to House and watching it now as its on Prime. Season 3 seems nowhere near the quality of Season 2 and this episode was quite boring.
The whole plot of waking a coma patient to diagnose his son's situation seemed incredulous in true House style but what happens after is a snooze fest.
I didnt know coma patients sleeping for 10 years woke up so fit and fresh as the guy does here. You would think the lack of movement will cause muscle dystrophy and low diet cause significant fat loss. But here the guy looks quite good. Then House allows him to drive from Plainsboro to Atlantic City. This is not funny at all and as someone who has travelled the route, absolutely irresponsible piece of filmmaking. The guy is temporarily out of coma, has no license and has not driven for 10 years. Somebody's stupid idea of humour to endanger lives on the road.
Then we keep waiting for the conversation to have any sense which it never does. He has no interest in his dying son and only craves for a Hoagie. Fact they were entertaining him has to be the stupidest plotline ever.
The ending is icing on the cake, doctors help a guy to kill himself so he can give away his heart. Speechless! Understand this sort of things dont get censored in US. If I were a doctor, I would be seriously offended.
And I havent even mentioned the cop side story.

The amazing John Laroquette is in top form as a guest star here. He's a father who has been in a persistent vegetative state (not a coma as a few here have mistakenly stated). House's patient is the man's son and since there is no one capable of giving a full medical history, House awakens the father, "Awakenings" style, to try to get a history about the son.
This leads to a great road trip, as House, Wilson and Laroquette head to New Jersey to find a Hoagie shop that apparently makes the world's best Italian Hoagie.
The whole plot about getting information from Laroquette via a road trip leads to one of the best 3 man scenes in modern television. Laroquette, one of the most talented, yet underrated actors of our time, is impressive, and gives Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard the chance to really bust out their not inconsiderable acting chops.
The subplot about Tilly interviewing doctors without giving them an opportunity to even consult an attorney, and frankly, Tilly being so vehement about destroying House because he was embarrassed is getting beyond stupid. David Morse used to be a pretty good actor, but as this single-minded, petty little man, he's hitting some seriously sour notes. I'm sure at some point this subplot will have a resolution. Honestly, the sooner it's over and done with, the better.

I liked this episode of house that I rewatched on a rainy Sunday this past week.
John LaRoquette is a gem and his presence proves his mastery of drama comedy and pathos on the little screen.
This was more of a teleplay than episodic tv.. The dialogues and character development within the confines of 42 minutes of episode tv were well done.
As for the haters and the ethicists and the wanna be doctors: House is about the day to day activities of a Doctor who is an addict and a misanthrope who is given more or less free reign to do as he pleases in a hospital because he is a good diagnostician - a savant who is good at only one thing. How real or ethical is that?
Its television ,people: entertainment, escapism. No different than Batman, or Gilligan's island.
